Edit: just realized this is third whale to die at Seaworld IN SIX MONTHS!

That's fucked up. They got a far better survival rate in the ocean. Set em free.

The last of three white lions on loan from the Siegfried & Roy animal and magic act has died at the Toledo Zoo.

Wondering how that phone call goes:

"Hello, Siegfried & Roy? Yes this is the Toledo Zoo. About those lions you loaned us...."

A woman mauled by a bear at her home in Canada's Yukon Territory was killed by a bullet fired by her husband while trying to rescue her, a coroner says.

Claudia Huber and her husband Matthias Liniger were attacked at their home in Johnson's Crossing.

Mr Liniger fired several rounds at the bear as it was mauling Ms Huber.

The bear was shot and died, but one bullet ricocheted off a tree and killed Ms Huber.

The last of the remaining members of Alberta Fish and Wildlife’s first pair of bear management dogs has died at the age of 15.

Kuma the Karelian Bear Dog was one of Canada’s first dogs assigned to track and direct bears.

Alongside his brother, Mica – who died at the age of 10 – Kuma assisted Fish and Wildlife officers in southern Alberta with keeping wildlife from wandering into dangerous scenarios for both the animals and the human population.

An 80-100 year old sacred Vietnamese turtle has died leaving a country in mourning.

Ça Rua, the giant turtle that once lived in Hanoi's Hoan Kiem lake. According to Vietnamese folklore, a turtle in the Hoan Kiem lake helped a Vietnamese king fend off the Chinese aggressors nearly six centuries ago.

Officials say old age and bad weather are to blame for its demise, and that its shell will be preserved at the Vietnam Nature Museum.

I know one of the rules of the deathlist derbies is that an entrant at least has to be human and no fictional. But thereare animals who are more famous than others and maybe we should introduce a thread to remember them as well.

Case in point. Today the fastest anomal ever on the planet died.

Sarah, a Cheetah living in the Cincinnati zoo, died at the age of 15. She was the fastest clocked animal ever to roam the earth. Back in 2012 she ran the 100 meters in a breakneck speed of 5.95 seconds, breaking her own record of 6.13 seconds.

Source.

Cmon, this ain't your first rodeo. Please move this to Animal Antics where ALL animal related posts have been made since long before I ever came here.

Thanks in advance Admin. Shame on you Whitehouse. Like you didn't know......

My fault. I though animal antics was where animals were the culprits in the deaths of humans.

Hug?
