I am as right wing and traditional as they come but the lack of democratic accountability in the Lords really boils my piss!It is anathema to me!

Most of them just check in for their £300 then bugger off to some 4 hour lunch.

Given his advanced age, he's already looked pretty good in recent stuff. Wouldn't be surprised to see him reach his century at all.

Lord Kirkhill was earning £156k (per annum?) as recently as 2015, despite not giving any speeches or votes in the Lords.

Carlos Romero, former El Salvador president, was removed from the list of the oldest living state leaders as there is no evidence to think he's still alive.

Dead at 92. Curse you wikipedia, you removed a living man!

Well now I'm just going to imagine him checking Wiki one day, and promptly expiring.

Yes, he died on September the 6th, aged 99. Wikipedia is doing a lot of mistakes recently....

Nah, first they removed Romero when he was alive and now it comes out they kept dead Awadalla for six months. Not so good.

I'm pretty certain most of them, if not all, will receive an obituary in The Telegraph or The Times.

It appears we almost missed Professor Alan Thompson, who apparently died on the 18th February and was published in The Times on the 21st February.

I hope everyone didn't turn up for his 100th birthday party just to see his decomposing corpse sitting there...

Yesterday morning Vince Cable was on the Today programme and he sounded a bit raspy. Might have been the line though.

Former Vice Presidet of Taiwan/Republic of China Li Yuan-Tsu has died aged 94. I'm using the spelling of his name on Wikipedia, not the one in the death notice.
