Didn't know he was in hospital. Must've been one of the frailest people on this planet for the last two years, I wonder if it weakened him.

He'll also be 95 on the 11th of March if still alive, I wonder if the myanmar media will write write about it

Apparently former Finnish prime minister and counselor of state Paavo Lipponen (born 1941, served as PM from 1995 to 2003) has had heart problems for multiple years, had a heart attack in 2017 and had to be operated 7 times and according to his wife, is now in such a frail condition that she can't visit him. I'm almost sure Lipponen won't see his 80th birthday.

Paavo Lipponen gave an interview today. Sounded frail but (somehow) otherwise in a very good condition for a 80-year-old with a long history of health issues.

Montana State Rep. Frank Fleming of Billings has died after what GOP leaders called a “long and difficult health battle.”

Fleming, a Republican, was appointed to the state Legislature in 2018 and was in the middle of his second term at the time of his death at age 68.

Stunning death, as Fleming was the picture of health.

I've decided to do one of these "remaining WWII vets" things for remaining Finnish WWII vets.

There are multiple parliament members who served/born before 1928:

Irma Rosnell (1927-2022) Parliament member 1954-1987. Didn't serve.

1928-1930:

Lasse Näsi (1930-2022) Parliament member 1991-1995.

Earliest living parliament member Rosnell seems to be very frail.

Irma Rosnell, earliest living Member of the Parliament of Finland (1954-1987) died last month at 94, one day before her 95th from a cardiac arrest:

Lasse Näsi, Member of Parliament 1991-1995 died a few days later at 91:

Rosnell was the last Member of the Finnish Parliament during the tenure of President J. K. Paasikivi (1870-1956, in office 1946-1956) at the time Urho Kekkonen became the President of Finland in 1956. Kekkonen was the President for nearly 26 years. The earliest living member of the Finnish Parliament is now Carl Olof Tallgren, 95, in office 1961-1975

Pentti Poutanen is the oldest one, 100 in August. In office 1970-1987.

There are currently nine of them aged 95+, most of them very minor names (including Poutanen) but there are also a few (slightly) interesting ones: Heikki Hasu, 1952 Oslo Olympics 4x10km relay gold medalist, Jutta Zilliacus, journalist (who was also sued by Vladimir Zhirinovsky in the 90s) and Ele Alenius, socialist who opposed the Soviet Union and the invasion of Czechoslovakia and now considers both capitalism and socialism outdated.

The state is mourning the loss of New Hampshire state Rep. Robert D. “Renny” Cushing, a self-described “aging revolutionary” and social justice crusader who died after a long battle with stage four prostate cancer. He was 69.
On March 2, he announced he was stepping aside on a medical leave of absence from his leadership role as House Democratic Leader.
In his eighth term as a member of the House of Representatives, Cushing began his political actions as a member of the Clamshell Alliance which opposed the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in the 1970s.  He has been a crusader for many human rights causes over those years, and particularly so on issues related to the death penalty, despite the fact, his father was murdered.

I've been keeping a close eye on Zambia's former Presidents before and after the death of Kaunda as all three have a history of health troubles, and seems like Rupiah Banda is still active. Not sure if he still has cancer, but looks great for a overweight 84-year old.

The other living former president, 77-year old Guy Scott, parkinson skeleton who was the acting president for a while in 2014 has also talked about the upcoming Thursday presidential elections in Zambia, multiple articles released that have statements from him but there's never a picture or a video of him. He's been reported "ailing" for a long time not only physically (according to many on twitter he's currently so frail he can't stand at all) but also mentally, so there's a chance the opinions in those articles aren't completely his own ones.

Who's going to be here for a longer time? I'd place my money on Banda.

Other Zambian politicians:

Malimba Masheke (1941-) Last Prime Minister of Zambia 1989-1991 and last one living.

Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewanika (1948-) Last living candidate of the 1996 Presidential elections and last living 20th century candidate in the Presidential elections of Zambia.

Godfrey Miyanda (1944-) VP 1994-1997, earliest living VP

Enoch Kavindele (1950-) VP 2001-2003

Nevers Mumba (1960-) VP 2003-2004

Inonge Wina (1941-) VP 2015-2021

I hope it wasn't very much!

Scott's now the last man standing. (Guy Scott, Rupiah Banda, Michael Sata, Kenneth Kaunda in February 2012)

Seeing how "well" my predictions (especially those involving Guy fucking Scott) have gone, I'll predict that he'll die before Mengistu Haile Mariam, Putin, Min Aung Hlaing, Yahya Jammeh, Dennis Sassou-Nguesso, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Khaleda Zia.
