Ralph Gonsalves, soon 75-year old longtime Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (since 2001) has been hospitalised after getting hit by a stone at an anti-vaccine mandate protest.

Ralph Gonsalves (Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines since 2001 and the longest serving of the current Prime Ministers of QEII) now hospitalised with "excuriating pain" and in Venezuela for treatment. Currently "doing well" but the possibility of him going to Cuba possibly for extended treatment doesn't make it sound so good

I was going to say that he died last month according to a post on her daughter's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/milviomario.attili), but apparently facebook translates posts and pronouns oddly and the post, the comments are actually about Cesar Yanes Urias' granddaughter who died a few years ago.

So as far as I know, Cesar Yanes Urias is still alive. I'm still not that sure if his death would actually be reported by sources outside of facebook though.

Well here's confirmation that Cesar Yanes Urias is alive, picture of him yesterday at 102 with his daughter and daughter's husband posted on that facebook account

Also, note that we have a current ruler of a country besides QEII on the top 100 list again with Paul Biya.

And now after Kibaki's death, there's now three, as far as I know for the first time since the last Emir of Kuwait died on the 29th of September 2020. QEII, Biya and Michel Aoun.

seems fine, tbh. wouldn't be surprised if she's got a couple more years in her.

as an aside, Wiki has her in the past tense despite the lack of a date of death. curious choice.

Active in Myanmar's/Burma's politics since the 1980s, he was a democracy activist who military dictator Than Shwe's government considered so dangerous he was jailed for seven years from 2007-2012 in a prison where he didn't receive proper medical attention for his diabetes, gout, CHD, ulcers and arthritis. Amnesty named him a prisoner of conscience in 2011, he was released in a mass presidential pardon in January 2012. He had stepped down as the leader of SNLD due to health reasons in 2020. Died peacefully in his sleep, or atleast that is what the country's media said.

Well, here's one for Singapore, up to 1941. Using the search feature couldn't find if anyone has done one for it.

Richard Hu (1926-2023) People's Action Party politician, former Minister of Health and Finance.

Ong Pang Boon (1929) Last old guard PAP member, he has held posts in the government of Singapore since 1959.

Poh Soo Kai (1930) Founding member of the People's Action Party, later an opposition member as a member of Barisan Sosialis (1961-1988) and a political prisoner.

J. Y. Pillai (1934) Acting President of Singapore in 2017, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers 2005-2019

Phey Yew Kok (1934) Former Singapore parliament member and crook who was on the run from authorities for 35 years after misusing union funds until surrendering in 2015.

Chiam See Tong (1935) Secretary-General of the Singapore People's Party 1996-2019, former opposition leader. Suffered a stroke in 2008, now incredibly frail.

Tan Cheng Beok (1940) Chairman of the Progress Singapore Party.

Ahmad Mattar (1940) Former minister.

Goh Chok Tong (1941) Prime Minister 1990-2004, has suffered from cancer atleast two times.

Chia Thye Poh (1941) Former leader of Barisan Sosialis and Leader of the Opposition. One of the world's longest-serving political prisoners who spent around 32 years incarcerated.

I would've done one for East Timor/Timor-Leste too, but seems that Xanana Gusmão (1946) is the oldest political personality in the country. Brunei has Isa bin Ibrahim (1935), Abdul Aziz Umar (1936), Zain Serudin (1936), Abdul Rahman Taib (1942), Badaruddin Othman (1942), Ibnu Basit Apong (1942), Mohammad Daud (1943) and Lim Jock Seng (1944)

Former Cuba foreign minister and Parliament president Ricardo Alarcon dead at 84. One of the old guard who fought in the revolution.

Still some of them around. Ramiro Valdés Menendéz (1932), former Minister of the Interior and VP, and VP José Ramón Machado Ventura (1930) have been only recently relieved of their duties, but are still going strong. Of course Raul Castro (1931) is still around. Any other, @arghton?
