Barry Manilow

Life is a journey, and some journeys are longer than others.  Like when it takes you 70 goddamn yours to figure out you're gay.   Perhaps it's just a stage he's going through.

He's been in his relationship for 40 years, so I suspect he's pretty sure about it.

I'll be completely honest here: I didn't even know he was IN the closet. I thought it was just one of those widely known things announced decades ago...

He could be confirming it because he is terminally il. Why only now Barry? This makes me worry about him.

Had to cancel a concert last week because of irregular heart beat:

He could be one to be on stage until he dies.

He once wrote a song about V I A G R A before it was even invented:

"I've been up, down, trying to get the feeling again..."

Edit: OK that's weird. He didn't write a song about SPAM. He wrote a song about the little blue pill beginning with V

Barry Manilow's X/Twitter account reporting the death of singer Debra Byrd, with whom he and others collaborated. Byrd was also a long-time vocal coach on American Idol and Canadian Idol.

Manilow and Byrd scraped a UK #73 hit in August 1994 with this from Thumbelina

Cancels show mid-performance, for what was claimed to be audio problems. However, multiple Vegas journalists/insiders have noted that people should "see Barry Manilow while we're able", and have implied he is suffering from health issues. I'm not sure where to go on this one, but if local recognized journalists are hinting that there might be something more to the story, it might be worth keeping an eye on him for a very long list.

Yeah with him having heart problems such as A -Fib he might be one that will be hard to nail on timing of putting him on a death list. You can live for years and years with something like that or drop dead in a matter of seconds. Maybe the reports are sniffing out that he is just thinking at 81 he is close to simply wanting to retire. Or is it that health issues are starting to become more and more of an issue for him that is forcing him to start to think he can not keep going.  He also seems to be a bit of a private man and getting any specific details of his health might be hard to come by on a national level.  Wow though I really do not want to think of the day we do lose him. Him and Micheal Bolton are two singers that I do not look forward to seeing the news of their deaths.
