I'm watching that new Chicago Seven movie right now. It's a court movie...

Two of the Chicago Seven are still alive, John Froines and Lee Weiner. Plus, the black 8th guy, Bobby Seale.

Yes, in Algeria everyone is dying BUT Bouteflika.

Disappointed people with a legitimate claim to fame like Abdennour and Necdet Urug were not listed in the Living Centenarians wiki page.

Racist lady who enjoyed stirring up hatred , calling black people coons who don't agree with her and wanting to enslave white people. She's a Black Tommy Robinson sometimes if you put out hatred it comes back to you. Wish her a full recovery for the sake of her kids.

I agree with most of that. She’s certainly someone who is making the situation worse rather than better, dividing the black communities further. Wouldn’t know that from reading that Guardian article. Doesn’t even say she’s “controversial”. They’re already eulogising her.

Well, according to that logic, fundraising, campaigning and blogging shouldn't count at all - because if the person was already notable before, why even bother?

Vicky Phelan's political impact is what makes her count. Now, yes, it happened because of her illness, but not every ill person does what she does, or did.

Maybe in the future, the rules will be stricter, but for now, these people, much like, for example, Noel Conway, or in the past, Kate Granger, are at least part of a societal discourse, if you will.

Noel Conway can't even enjoy the Euros now, because he is DEAD.

A DDP pick for veterans Mr C who hold the joint record for most DDP appearances ever.

Edgar Bear Runner, a moderately important Native American activist, has died earlier this month at age 70:

Used to be an Alt Obits pick of mine, among other pools - turns out he died off the radar. Wikipedia hasn't noticed yet (neither did anyone else):
