I try to be as open minded in my music as possible, so I try to listen to a lot of stuff, even if there are some artists that certain people say are uncool to listen to. The Dead Cow 620 Posted May 26, 2018 I'm enjoying some of the solo work of Mark Mulcahy (of Miracle Legion and Polaris) at the moment, a criminally underappreciated singer and songwriter in my opinion. Of his solo career his album Fathering is quite excellent, though I think my favourite solo song of his would be this one, predominantly because of the french horn. I just got to Nightswimming in my full listen of the album, and I agree that it's a superb song, along with the rest of the album (even Everybody Hurts is a great song despite it being overplayed). Haven't watched this video for years and it's one of those videos that just leaves you standing aghast, the way Freddie Mercury interacts with the crowd is astonishing and it's one of the best Queen set-lists you could ever wish to see, as is the crowd participation. There's an absolutely incredible bit in the middle which is just him getting the crowd to sing nonsense back to him (well vocal exercises, but it sounds like nonsense), only he could pull it off in quite that fashion and get so many involved. I now know where I'm going if I ever come across a time machine and some covers of a few rock classics....
