Slackhurst Broadcasting 373 Posted September 30, 2020 Bollocks to “I Am Woman,” but “Angie Baby” was an odd, rather creepy record that deserves to be remembered.
markb4 886 Posted September 30, 2020 Sigh...it's a 'Candle on the Water' night to pay tribute to her.

Youth in Asia 1,082 Posted September 30, 2020 I have literally never heard of her, and it seems she was one of the biggest stars of the 70s. How did that happen. I mean Barry Manilow opened for her at one point ffs.
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,683 Posted September 30, 2020 She should have done a covers album of 'Ready' songs: Are You Reddy for Love? Get Reddy Reddy or Not, Here I Come Are You Reddy to Be Heartbroken? People Get Reddy Reddy Willing and Able Reddy to Go Reddy Teddy Reddy for the Weekend Let's Get Reddy to Rhumble Or perhaps not.

Agree to that, Angie Baby is one of my all time favourite songs.

Toast 16,067 Posted September 30, 2020 I've just listened to I Am Woman and confirmed my suspicion that while I am very familiar with its existence, I had never actually heard it before. I have vague memories of seeing it listed in the international charts in the music press for weeks on end. It wasn't a hit in the UK.
ThePrematureBurial 224 Posted September 30, 2020 What an unfortunate coincidence. Last week I listenend to her wonderful recordings & I planned to ask reddyrawks for new information about her physical condition. Too late, although I'm not really surprised, since she has been in nursing care since 2015. A bad year for famous singers. Mirella Freni, Gabriel Bacquier, Kenny Rogers, Christophe... I will keep an eye on LInda Ronstadt. She seemed lucid in her last interview, but she has been diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy in 2013 & the survival from onset averages seven years... YoungWillz 20,919 Posted October 3, 2020 I see the BBC finally spotted that I Am Woman, which was on every UK banner headline about her death, never made the UK charts. So, in a moment of oblique apology, they've given us a list of famous songs which sold in the UK (if at all) in pitiful numbers: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54390878
