Joe Biden is the best, because he will cure cancer. :)

Night two of the debates went through, and it was really a mess. Kamala Harris was by far the best debater of the group. Biden, as I kind of suspected, flopped miserably, but he wasn’t even the worst debater of the night. That goes to Eric “Pass the Torch and Diapers” Swalwell and Marrianne “New Zealand and Love” Williamson. I won’t say more about those two, those quotations should say enough...

Think the nominee will be Mayor Pete or Kamala

Biden lived up to the Sleepy Joe nic and Sanders  subpar debating skills will only be amplified when he doesn't have someone with as much baggage as Hilary to be against(similiar to how Beto looks a chump without Ted Cruz around)

I think Bernie will get the nomination, assuming the DNC learns their lesson from 2016, and doesn’t play the diversity card.

The DNC won’t learn anything, and they will continue to try to prop up centrist candidates cause they don’t like change at all. Hopefully voters can see through that and make him the nominee though.

In other news, billionaire Tom Steyer wants to jump into the race. Yawn...

Okay, I shouldn't care at all, with me not being an American and all but I think I'd like to see a Warren/Castro ticket. Though I am not sure if that would be a hit, or a new Mondale/Ferraro.

Buttigieg for a cabinet post.

Sanders - I don't know... his time is over, his vision too narrow. Something I cannot explain turns me away from him.

Harris will be hard to beat in the primary, if she succeeds at building a moderate/African-American alliance. She's very Clintonite though.

I feel the best way to beat out Donald Trump is someone on the populist left, because then they would be able to counter Trump’s phony populism without much issue. If a more centrist candidate is selected as the nominee, Trump could easily try to (and potentially succeed too) put them as an establishment politician, and Trump wouldn’t be wrong there. Granted, it’ll still be difficult for him to hold the three rust belt states regardless (he isn’t that well liked there), but putting a centrist as the nominee will definitely improve his chances of winning in 2020 and potentially cause more damage to the country...

His suspension is official now:

Time to remove him from the poll (I’m probably going to remove people who drop out before the Iowa caucus as you can’t really win if you don’t even make it to that).

Did you not even consider that the very reason snot rags like Trump got so many votes in the first place was because of the left leaning liberals that people are sick to the fucking back teeth of? I cannot see anybody on that list who is remotely good enough to take the bullshit out of Trump. He will probably get a second term which is more damning of the Democrats than it is of the people who see no better choice than the permatanned fucktard.

Ditto here, ditto half of Europe.

Oh, Hillary Clinton and most of the Democratic Party being left leaning liberals is absolutely dead wrong. No, she lost to Donald Trump because of a) she was running to the “center” to try to get some moderate Republican votes and pushing away left wing voters she needed to win the election b) the negative baggage she had on her due to her emails and her ties to Wall Street, and c) most importantly, Donald Trump actually campaigned to the left on some issues like trade (which was a lie by Trump), and he was able to successfully use that to portray Clinton as a puppet of Wall Street, which he’s actually right on (granted, he’s a pretty big hypocrite himself on that fact, but it still doesn’t change the fact that she’s also a tool of Wall Street). The bigger issue, however, is that the Overton window in the US is actually pretty right wing. The Republicans are a far right party, and much of the Democratic Party is center right, and the center right of the party included people such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and all those neoliberal Democrats. So maybe the bigger reason why we got Donald Trump is that much of what’s supposed to be the left wing of the country is actually serving Wall Street interests rather than the interests of the American people. Maybe if the Democrats actually served the people then maybe we wouldn’t have to deal with the idea of the lesser of two evils, or maybe our country would be in a much better place today than it is right now, but instead we have two parties who don’t serve the people and the Democrats wonder why they often lose...

Ok, let's simplify this:

Clinton lost because she didn't pretty much didn't campaign in Wisconsin or Michigan and took them for granted (despite losing both in the primaries to Bernie "Anyone but Hilary protest vote" Sanders), and Trump campaigned the fuck out of them.

Yeah she was shit but so was he but he won because he spoke to folk where the crucial votes were. He played the game.

Whoever wins for the Democrats, never mind left/right, Trumps ratings, wars, whatever. If they convince the 40, 000 swing voters in the Rust Belt that they can deliver for them (like Obama and Bill Clinton convinced them), then they will beat Trump. If they cannot, they will not.

Given the mid-terms results and pretty much all signs since, this *should* be an open goal. But we are talking about the Democrats, who seem allergic to scoring at times...

Bernie Sanders refuses to pay his workers at least 15 dollars an hour! (They are averaging 13 dollars an hour since they are salaried and not paid for over-time. Part of HIS agenda is to increase the Federal minimum wage in the USA to that amount.)The man is a peach! The workers demand a liveable wage.

Bye! Bye! Bernie! Socialism is a bitch when you yourself have to pay for it.

Socialists are generous with other people's money same with regards to immigration. Nihilists and hypocrites! As long as others are doing the work and paying, and it doesn't effect me I'm alright with it because people will think I care and I'm a good person. The people in my city on the weekend handing out food and helping homeless are usually   Christians.  The socialists are too busy in bed,  marching( virtue signalling) or doing some hipster shit.

I just don't know and I wouldn't intrude on the grief of the American people.

So, encroaches a little rather than intrudes! I've drawn the analogy before I'm sure somewhere, but Trump is in the mould of William McKinley. Look what happened to him. So perhaps not worry too much about his re-election - should he survive the campaign trail. I hear of trillions of national debt, stock market on the slide, those tax cuts some are enjoying will stop for the middle class in mid next term, though the tax cuts for the richest will continue. Where's your infrastructure projects?

What's to like about keeping the incompetent incumbent who uses the position to enrich only his friends, cause division everywhere, tries to persuade you that everything you read is fake and, more recently, all the people who once were revered without question are attacked. Surely that's the Russian way?

Watched some of the coverage and I am frankly amazed the American public aren't snapping up the general thrust of Warren and Sanders on healthcare. I can't imagine that walking in and out of hospital with no bills isn't somehow attractive, especially as the deduction from wages would be progressive (cheaper for the poorest, more expensive for the rich) but everyone has access to it and the vast majority will be better off. That's not to say there isn't a place for private insurance, but that's a choice for those who have it. Could in some way federalise it to make it more attractive? Those more rural states could get additional funding out of the savings on prescription costs to keep their hospitals up?

Immigration seems to be the main stumbling block - even with an all Democratic congress, there seems to be so much disagreement intra-party that resolution seems to be distant in that event. It's quite clear why more people are coming - threat of closure of the border, withdrawal of international funding for programmes in Central and Southern America - all self inflicted by the Americans by electing the current incumbent. Democrats still have to be much stronger here. Point here really is if you have better trading relations and cut tariffs/corporation taxes, the investment will flow in and America can afford to make undocumented immigrants citizens and afford the extra courts to sort out the economic migrants from the asylum seekers, afford the border control to sort out the genuine from the criminals.

So that's where the US has to get back to a super economy that makes everyone better off. It impacts on everyone and everything they want.

Seems to me constitutional change is needed, but it's not an issue for now - it's leaving folk cold. So those promoting like Buttigieg are failing.

Gun controls - did Parkland and everything else still not teach them anything? Again, I don't understand why this doesn't seem to chime.

From what I've seen you need a strong personality. Biden seems hamstrung by his past. Warren seems to have some baggage, perhaps a little too folksy. Sanders maybe right given his consistency on issues all his political life - is America ready for him, or has his message had it's time already? Will everything he wants done get done in 8 years?

So I'd tend towards Harris as the Democrats' best hope. She'd rip Trump apart on his 4 years. Seems to be just radical enough to change America for the better.

But it's for America to decide.

Kamala Harris has had massive problems during her tenure as attorney general of California so I wouldn’t really trust her as president. She’s great at being a politician, but I wouldn’t expect much (if any) change if she were elected to president in 2020

Works with the current one ;)

“May God bless the memory of those who perished in Toledo,” the president said, referring to a city more than 100 miles away from Dayton, the location of a massacre on Sunday. “May God protect them. May God protect all of those from Texas to Ohio. May God bless the victims and their families. May God bless America.”
