L.T.D.

Abraham Miller proving elusive despite coming from North Carolina with a fairly distinctive name.

Johnny McGhee (aka John T McGhee) seems to a somewhat prolific guitarist, writing and producing songs all over the place. And yet I can only come up with a location (which may not be current) of Minneapolis, Minnesota: https://www.reverbnation.com/musician/johnnymcghee

Edit: Johnny McGhee's FB: https://www.facebook.com/john.t.mcghee

They're all on FB it seems. Managed to find all their birthdays through that.

Only year I can't get now is McGhee. He's a bit of a mystery. Born 7 Jan but I still can't find his birth record. I think he is actually John L. McGhee by birth (I think the "T" is added for style). On Discogs it says aka John L Ghee. There is a John L McGhee born in Virginia in 1942 (record says 1st July but not uncommon for U.S. records to have the dates muddled because they have no consistently in date ordering(!!)  How many times do we have to tell them... smallest to largest DATE > MONTH > YEAR. It's 2020, you'd have thought they'd have changed this by now.

Anyway, in the absence of anything more concrete, I can't take this as gospel. I will leave it black for now.

Pretty happy with that section now. A pity about Jake Riley. Can't find anything other than a 2000 year of death. There is one record on Ancestry that stands out:

Jake Riley (BLACK MALE) b. 10 Oct 1949 d. 27 Nov 2000 in Los Angeles, California. There was an inquest launched into his death by the looks of it.

Danny Webster, guitarist with Slave who made the lower reaches of the UK Chart (#64) with Just A Touch Of Love in March 1980, reportedly dead aged 61: https://www.soultracks.com/story-danny-webster-slave-dies

The band is notable as it featured Steve Arrington who went on to have solo success, such as Feel So Real in 1985.

Picture quality issues but anyhow:

Odd for me that Macca's best song of the 70s didn't even make the top 20. Dan McCafferty's been on my shortlist for years, suffering from COPD. Another mentioned in this post I wont name has helped us with work in the past - you have their DOB already.

I can explain this I think. The 1977 release was a live version. The original appeared on McCartney's first solo album several years earlier. I don't think it was released as a single at that time.

Oh yeah, hence it coming up in those long standing "if the 3 1970-1 solo Beatles albums were one big Beatles album what songs would it have" chats the last 50 odd years, I should have spotted that!

Aye, the live version is from Wings Over America - triple album of their massive 1976 US tour.

Joy. Just typed out a huge chunk of part 3 of M and then lost it all because the page auto-refreshed due to an error.

The perks of having YouTube open in another tab and the ads on their site slowing down your entire browser.

:banghead:

This has happened in the past but autosave kicked in so that when I returned to the page, most of it was kept. Anyone know if there's a way to enable an auto save that kicks in every few minutes on here (kind of like on Microsoft Office)? @Paul Bearer?

Thanks YW, added!

Found this also, which says he died in August.

Pretty incredible none of their original or prominent members died for 63 whole years after their debut!

Had a quick look to see if there was anything I could find,  I'll have another look when I get more time, however I don't think I'll be able to change it. Maybe @Death Impends could check it out?   Of course, it might be something already written into the system.

Thanks guys. For some reason it always saves a draft on iPhone for me but when I’m at a desktop it rarely does it. Might be an issue my end.

The same Phil Gould as in Level 42? Indeed, along with sort-of-but-not-officially member Wally Baradou. What an eclectic line-up!

Bunny Wailer not in Marley and the Wailers?

Him and Tosh had both left by the mid 70s. They’re not credited on any of those singles anyway. Bunny seems to be doing well. I think he’ll be around for a while yet.

Marmalade.

Dougie Henderson.

Found this:

So we've got a birthdate of 28 July. Now, if he makes his first TOTP appearance at the age of 17, that's going to have him born sometime in the region of 1953/54, most probably Glasgow as he was from Pollok.

Sandy Newman.

Found this:

So we have a birthdate for Alexander Newman of 1 March. Now he says he was 17 or 18 when he joined the Chris McClure Section: https://blazingminds.co.uk/interview-sandy-newman-marmalade-cardiff/ and I believe he joined that band in or around 1968, so that's going to have him born 1950-52.

Charlie Smith. Nada.

Is Dougie (Douglas) his real name or stage name? Because only one of them was born in Pollok in that time period and it's Douglas Henderson born 1950.
