Frightened to enter in case they die and then are resurrected. Bloody Easter.

The above already provides a catch-all thread for deaths. No real need to distinguish deaths by DL and non-DL status in a catch-all thread given how there's only a dozen or so DL hits a year.

No, it won't even reach the Billboard top 100, I think.

Akihito ain't that bad, he's planning on abdicating late this year - which is basically unthinkable in Japan - so they might be expecting him to be dead already. David Prowse, Queen Elizabeth, and Betty White are the only bad picks if you ask me. Either way, we can't be too optimistic. 2009 and 2013 also were extremely good lists with a lot of dead-certs, but failed to get the record. And in January 2014, if you said that Sam Simon, Valerie Harper, and Wilko Johnson would all survive the year, you'd've been locked in a mental institution.

So, we need 15 hits to get the record. Can we do it? 3 already dead of course, none of whom were dead-certs at the beginning of the year. We have at least 4 dead-certs. Leah Bracknell, Gord Downie, Errol Christie all have cancer with a grim prognosis. There's also King Michael, who might have not that bad a cancer, but is nearly a centenarian and extremely frail. We should get all of them. We have some people who aren't that old, but extremely frail from dementia/Alzheimer's and the sort. Tony Booth, Nobby Stiles, Jill Gascoine, Glen Campbell, John Noakes. It's always hard to predict the life expectancy of these people, but they're all (if I recall correctly) in the late stages of Alzheimer's - the can't dress themselves, no idea who or where they are, pants-shitting stages. We should get at least 2, and that's a conservative estimate. Another category is people with cancer but it doesn't seem that grim. However, they're both pretty old. Gay Byrne and Ian St. John. We might get 1 of them. Then there's just the frail oldies. Kirk Douglas, Vera Lynn (although she's not as frail as the rest), Billy Graham, Peter Sallis, George H. W. Bush, Pope Benedict, Bruce Forsyth, Desmond Tutu, Ian Brady. I think 4 is attainable. That means we only need 1 more to reach the record. This will most likely be a rando, like Javier Perez de Cuellar or Herman Wouk. We should get at least 1 rando. Bam! Record broken.

This is mine. For some reason I thought we had to have 10 men and 10 women, don't know where I got that idea from. We have a few in common Shaun James Jordan Ronnie Wood Ed Sheeran Robbie Williams Jimi Mistry Jason Manford Olivier Sarkozy Prince Harry Ashton Kutcher Mark Cavendish Adele Karen Clifton Katy Perry Keira Knightley Chloe Madeley Michelle Keegan Victoria Coren Mitchell Emmy Rossum Emma Bunton January Jones Zara Philips

It is so difficult to predict her case because we don`t know the specific type of lung cancer she has and where else it is now. Also, she is incredibly vague when she talks about it that you do have to read between the lines.Errol Christie is an outlier for having stage 4 lung cancer as he has made the two year mark. That said he is incredibly fit otherwise and has been able to receive chemo meaning he might last a bit longer. His nephew said he had a year to live last June.Downie again is getting towards being an outlier as he has passed the 15-month average lifespan for glioblastoma but did have surgery and treatment that has had effect. The issue with glioblastoma is even when treated fairly successfully it flares up again with a vengeance.Bracknell however from what she has said has very limited treatment options whereas the other two seemingly don`t.All 3 will in all likelihood go this year I still think.Very sad as they all seem like nice people and dying in your early 50`s is pretty tragic in this day and age.Still dead pooling is a measurement of probabilities, not a wish list.

Unless you're Alan Aspin! I swear, I was tempted to actually write a damned article myself and mention his death in it (for a QO) but it got veto'd by my better half on accounts of it being cheating, if you could imagine that! (There might be one or two, or ten lies in the previous statement - never let the truth get in the way of an anecdote...)

Thank guys, yep always worried about invasive procedure. If they added any more inches, they'd have to re-classify me as black. Given my history, I might not even get an operation, as I have to be assessed for suitability for general anaesthesia. Dunno what will happen if that doesn't work out, eek.

I'm ok, long standing issue so had to get it checked out. Shouldn't be fatal if I have the op or not. I'll be on a waiting list, so WWIII might get me first.

That makes annoying sense actually with hindsight (Sir Creep calls certs slam dunks as in "you can't miss them"*), but so it goes! *Although my very brief PE class career of playing the game suggests you really can miss them, quite easily.

51 year old? Alan? Cuts related cancer? That's just stirring the DDP QO pot for some of us...
