A new thread for the new game would be tidier as all the teams and scoring would be on the first page and easy to find. I agree with Toast that a new thread for the game would be easier to deal with. Hopefully more will join! Wonderful you are doing this game again. @Lafaucheuse

Dianne Feinstein was my no 3 sub, so hardly worth replacing at this late stage, but just in case, Steve McMichael. Clearly not doing the new version on this thread, a new one will be created shortly ! You can already send your list by pm

Lafaucheuse 4,041 Posted September 30, 2023 Thinking about making the Game begin on the first of november to let more time to anyone considering participating. What do you think mid october is also possible but arbitrary

Captain Hemlock 737 Posted September 30, 2023 I like the mid-October start date idea. I wasn't sure you were continuing with this until I saw your note yesterday.
Book 3,545 Posted September 30, 2023 Maybe you should clarify the obit rules first, because that also influences the selection of candidates. Otherwise, I think mid-October is ok, why wait until November?

Yes, and do not veto picks because you haven't heard of them "they are not notable enough". (Jeremy Clarke) Let them sink or swim by obit.
ladyfiona 2,571 Posted September 30, 2023 Mid October should be fine. I've just got my list made.
Lafaucheuse 4,041 Posted September 30, 2023 Mid october it will be. Thread will be created tomorrow ! 7 hours ago, Toast said: Yes, and do not veto picks because you haven't heard of them "they are not notable enough". Otherwise, I think mid-October is ok, why wait until November? Also, to clarify, I’ll add a obit rule but not as restrictive as DDP : won’t be accepted Insta or facebook post or (solely) death certificate from registry office for example. Any official newspaper in any language will be accepted in order to encourage diversity of picks. there will be an « obit watch » category just as for DDP. again Toast, sorry for Jeremy Clarke, that was arbitrary and a mistake. He wouldn’t have make your official list anyway if I remember well but you’re right, obits are more useful here ! 2
