Thanks for the warning. The database does not NEED the year of birth. But you do have to enter the "age of death", so it's theoretically possible to have mismatched data. I'll change it though while I'm at it. I've noticed that quite often there is a difference between google and wikipedia, probably because google occasionally has outdated data. So if you're in a hurry for entering the celebrity data and you just use the google info, these things occasionally happen, I'd say about 10 times each year. Occasionally I check, but even then, it's possible that sometimes the dates change. Actors and actresses have liked to give lower ages for themselves for ages.

No qualifying obituary yet for British Judge William  Gage but I have found a photo of him in todays Racing Post in the accompanying article.  I mention this as the committee could not find a photo to put on his  biography profile on the DDP website but one is now freely available it seems.

Hopefully  a qualifying obituary will be forthcoming  Spon!!

August hits have again increased the total number of hits to 296.  End of July was 292, end of June was 290.

 

August had 25 hits, plus one found behind the sofa for a final August total of 211.

  

As of writing on 22 September, there are 224 hits total. A updated estimate puts the September final estimate at 232, shifted higher than the June (225) or July (228) estimates.

 

Currently, the monthly hit rate had a big uptick from July (0.774) to August at 0.839.The yearly rate is well above 0.8, and matched a previous estimate, making me recheck my work!  Still using the base rates that might be conservative,  but again that error is reduced with each monthly update.
