Well, well, well.

Johnny Johnson, who was long rumoured to have died from cancer in the 1970s, was alive all this time.

He discovered god by the looks of it and led a quiet life shunning any publicity, but he died in March aged 80. Legacy obit here.

Johnny Johnson last picked in 2021 so List of the Missed @Death Impendshttp://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2021/celebs_J.html#johnsoj020

Of course, the DDP committee seemed at that time to have ruled him out for future picking, suggesting he was probably already dead.

Cue anger from Gris Gris team - you know it is coming.

Not that he seems to have QO-ed anyway...

De Fontenay yahoo obit. A unique DDP hit for my Drop Dead Diva theme team.

Still baffled that Claude Sarraute didn't get one

So, who we waiting on for obits?

I make that Roy Swetman, Martin Walser and Jango Edwards.

Edit: Oops and Carl-Erik Eriksson.

Technically I'd say yes, because we don't even have an approximate date of death for him, a requirement of the DDP. At the moment we have the West saying he was dead in April-ish, and IS saying he was killed in clashes with no date.

Why do folk insist on picking these people?

The old "pick a shithead, cheer if the gamble works" gambit? I like to have at least one irredeemable cunt on my teams, though I got burned by the IS wankers in 2017.

By the way, knew about Jango (unchained), didn't pick him in the DDP as QO seemed highly unlikely. If he gets one, you will hear a lot of swearing in the Clyde Valley...

Shameless self-interest, obviously but...Reuters confirm that ISIS is now on it's fifth leader and - therefore - three of the current DDP teams have a hit: https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/islamic-state-confirms-death-its-leader-names-his-replacement-2023-08-03/

No details of age - though almost certainly in the 30-49 category and confirmed died in a gun battle - whether that's unnatural causes given his chosen job is up to DDP management.

Yeah, debateable whether reality television has long rendered it past its sell-by and Michael Apted who started the whole thing has died since 63 Up.

The last one in 2021 rated ok through and 70 feels a nice number to end it on as tribute to Apted
