35. Esther Rantzen

When she spoke to ITV News and Keir Starmer she stated "Im not at my best" and she no longer wishes to be filmed on camera. Needed subtitles but that`s clearly just the line.

So Starmer and Rantzen are monetising their private videos on Only Fans?

Her daughter accepted an award on her behalf Tuesday.

This, combined with her refusing to appear on camera the other week, makes me think she may be in her final weeks.

Esther Ranzen has been forced to pull out of a Westminster debate on assisted dying because she is too ill.  She was planning to attend the debate on Monday.

Dame Esther Rantzen sends message to MPs after pulling out of assisted dying debate

No new information, second time in a month that she's not appeared at an event (see post above by @RadGuy).

From the article:

In a statement Dame Esther said: "While, sadly, my health issues (I have stage four lung cancer) prevent me from attending it myself, I will be watching the debate closely as it affects my own decision to go to Dignitas in Zurich if necessary, to protect my family from witnessing a painful death."

What’s the betting she dies the day fhe Euthanasia bill is introduced into parliament which she really should be against considering her career.

Was well enough to give a statement to PA following Chris Serle's death. Beginning to think she's a lock to see in 2025.

She very well could see '25, although I hardly find her sending "deepest sympathies" a sign of good health. William Schallert paid tribute to co star Patty Duke just several weeks before his own death back in 2016.

There's several versions in that report of what he said.

‘Is Dame Esther Rantzen with us?’

I can't see a problem with that.  On the other hand ....

‘Is Dame Esther Rantzen still with us?’

That "still" makes all the difference.

Or Benny Hill who famously released a tribute to Frankie Howard only to be found to have died in his house before the statement was made.

Y'know Truss and the lettuce

I'm wondering if Esther's in less trouble than the largely ignorned Daily Express - either way, a marriage of convenience seems to be suiting the pair of them presently

Don’t know if it’s significant but Channel 4 News did a piece on assisted dying last night and it was her daughter rather than Esther herself who was being interviewed.

With the way it is going she will die the day it is rejected by MP’s. The Two minsters who would have to implement the law are both strongly against.

Wales has rejected assisted dying. I wonder if Esther will comment on it somehow.

Apparently she sent a letter to Wes Streeting? Very furious, but also, still very alive.

I mean, you can't be punished for a successful suicide....

The article says that if a law were to be passed, the first death would still be 2-3 years away. But I guess only very few people here believe she can make it to 2026.
