Who Should Be On The Deathlist 2025?

How about Johnny Mathis?

He's getting up there in years.

Has tour dates scheduled throughout 2025, released his latest album only last year.

I would be in favour of his inclusion on notability measure but I’d give it a few years.

Michael Caine is a good shout, not sure on the others though. Judi Dench and Connie Francis are old but I don't know of them being ill, Judi Dench especially I can imagine hanging around until at least late 2020s. ABBA members are late 70s and would surely be a wasted pick unless you know of any of them being particularly at risk of dying anytime soon.

What's the deal with Drake Bell?

His mental health isn't great as he's going through divorce, rehab (following the Brian Peck revelations) and his acting and music careers have fallen off a cliff.

I'm not sure that's enough to put him on the list tbh. Picking people on the basis of poor mental health is risky.

For ABBA, I think Anni-Frid is a possible. She's definitely the frailest of the four. Also I wonder about Bjorn's health, he has lost a lot of weight in recent photos and got married recently which I wondered about. I think Agnetha and Benny both look very well for their age though and I would be surprised if either went soon. Hopefully they have all got a good while left.

I know the star off saved by the bell did die so isn't totally farfetched

George Soros.

For the rest I need to have my notes with me.

Alright, here is now where I add the names with my list, this will be updated, but for now:

Geoffrey Boycott (have a feeling there)

King Charles III (wouldn't want to miss him)

Mitch McConnell

I'm seeing Drake Bell as a very similar case to his Drake & Josh co-star Johnny Lewis. Both have had numerous issues and been in trouble with the law a few times.

My proposition.

To be included for 2025:

  • George Soros (very advanced age)
  • Jean Chretien (Canadian ex-PM)
  • Susan Flannery (B&B)
  • Juan Carlos I (previous Spanish monarch)
  • Geoff Hurst
  • Joe Biden (departing POTUS)
  • Sir Trevor McDonald

To be returned among survivors:

  • Liza Minnelli
  • Leo Beenhakker
  • Alan Alda

To be kept:

  • Jimmy Carter
  • Tom Brokaw
  • Patricia Routledge
  • Clint Eastwood
  • Dick Cheney

Connie Francis might make a good addition. Not sure she's made any public appearances since 2019.

Her Facebook page shows her regularly attending events, and actually looking very good for 87.

If we are raising Boycott, I'd also propose another coffin dodging cricketing Yorkshireman, Harold "Dickie" Bird.

Kate Middleton (cancer)

King Charles (old plus cancer)

Camilla (old plus 40 Rothmans a day)

Prince Harry (suicide or the John Lennon experience, whichever comes first)

Princess Alexandra  I think deserves more consideration than all names but King Charles in your list.

If they really want an evil US politician on the list I feel like Mitch McConnell would probably be a better pick than Dick Cheney

some music themed suggestions for the DL:
Mick Jones (81)Songwriter/Guitarist “Foreigner” - Parkinson’s Disease for several years; can no longer tour as of mid-2023
John Kander (98)Composer (“Cabaret”, “Chicago”, “New York, New York”) - Old, but still sharp, might make 100
Neil Young (80)Musician - Diabetic with multiple health problems over the years; cancelled tour for ‘health reasons’
Roger O’Donnell (70)Musician (The Cure) - Lymphoma and Blood Cancer (but appears to be on the up-and-up, if you think a relapse is worth the gamble)
Robin Trower (80)Guitarist (Procal Harum) - Undisclosed serious health issues and requiring ‘major operation’.

some shadow list suggestions for the rest (as they likely aren't famous enough in the UK):
Francois Clemens (80)Actor (Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood) and Grammy-Winning singer - Poor health (following multiple strokes) and in an assisted-living facility.
Phil Robertson (79)Reality Show Star (Duck Dynasty) - Alzheimer’s and Blood Disease
Wendy Williams (60)Broadcaster - suffers from Bruce Willis Disease (aphasia and frontotemporal dementia)
Leonard Peltier (81)Activist - Failing health in prison, multiple bouts of Covid; his death would be big news in the US
William Daniels (98) - Actor (Boy Meets World) and voice actor (KITT from “Night Rider”), Old and starting to really struggle with speaking and memory

I'm not a Brit, but I don't see how Daniels isn't worth the DL. St. Elsewhere and Knight Rider were popular in the UK and he was a main cast member in both. He's also much more recognizable to millennials than most actors born in 1927 given his role in Boy Meets World, so his death is sure to be big news.

That said, he doesn't seem unhealthy to me. He's still available on Cameo and can stand without a cane. I think he could probably make 100, barring Bonnie Bartlett (who looks great for 95) going before him.

@tracy as you are one of my heroes on this forum along with @Thatcher for your death notices are you in a position to provide a list of suggestions/ideas?
