Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 3, 2017 As per FB: Our hearts weep as we announce the passing of Goldy McJohn, Founding Father of Steppenwolf. Goldy suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack the morning of August 1st, 2017. The family thanks all of those who have protected their privacy leading up to this announcement while they dealt with this unexpected loss. That sucks. SC Must be something going on in the Tejano world.57-year old Tejano music legend Ram Herrera made his first public appearance over the weekend since being hospitalized on July 7. Herrera seems to have recovered well, since being admitted to the hospital on July 7, for pneumonia and a collapsed lung. He later received surgery for a knee infection and care to repair damage to his heart. The crooner is already scheduled to perform on August 18 in Grand Prairie, Texas and in Houston on August 26. I see this ending live on stage, we've had a few this year. SC

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 20, 2017 Jason Corsaro, sound engineer and mixer extraordinaire, and one of those guys in the background you never heard of until now, dies from cancer age 58. His accomplishments, an incredible discography that included engineering and/or mixing for all-time greats including Madonna, The Power Station, Duran Duran, The Rolling Stones, The Cars, Paul Simon, Chic, Soundgarden, Bill Laswell, and countless others. Didn't know him but he's certainly a giant in the industry, and for those desperate to find 'dying in threes' for today, you can probably include him with Dick Gregory and Jerry Lewis for your triad. maryportfuncity 10,642 Posted August 21, 2017 With all due respects to these varied "curses" attaching themselves to bands - aren't we just shipping the same curses time and again on this thread? Guys (and it is mainly guys) who combined unhealthy lifestyles, anti-social hours and heavy habits regarding cocaine and tobacco? If we then allow out the conspicuously rich ones like Keef who could always get the same drugs a chemist would see - we've pretty much nailed why so many heart attacks, tumours and failing internal organs blight the pensionable years of those who spent ages playing provincial halls. Listen, you quoted her Wiki page, but obviously didn't read it hence my first and possibly only angry emoji reaction. I ask the mods to move the aforesaid posts re Bell up to this one to Dead Pop Stars, when I shall remove said reaction. And you can fuck off with your snide comment. Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted August 29, 2017 Doesn't that make her the third Soul II Soul vocallist to cark it, behind (checks Wiki) Doreen Waddell and Lamya? Would love to punch Jazzie B in the face.
Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted August 29, 2017 I'd forgot how fucked up Doreen Waddell's death was: Quote Waddell was killed on 1 March 2002 in Shoreham-By-Sea after being challenged by staff in Tesco at the Holmbush Shopping Centre on suspicion of shoplifting goods, including children's items, she ran through a rear fire exit and attempted to cross the A27 nearby. She was hit by three vehicles, dying instantly at the age of 36. She left a four-year-old son.[1][2][3]
