Where is the justice in that? Anyway, for some reason, I was randomly thinking about Footrot Flats today. I hadn't read it for years but it popped into my head for some reason. Joey Russ 7,229 Posted March 14, 2017 Actually, is he famous enough for his own thread? I know Spongebob is very well known in America (though whether you like it or not is a different story, I don't), but is the show well known in the U.K.?
msc 18,479 Posted March 14, 2017 Yes, it was quite popular over here in the 90s - when Channel 4 did that Top 100 Animated Films/TV show in 2004* compiled by their sponsors the voting public, Spongebob finished in 28th place, ahead of The Magic Roundabout, Rugrats, etc... I thought it was a bit rubbish but I was probably too old for it, younger family members loved it. *Channel 4 didn't have SuperTed on the voting shortlist, so crap list.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted June 13, 2017 Not exactly a cartoonist -- coulda put it in CEO's thread but seems more logical here. James Galton, the former president and CEO of Marvel Entertainment Group who is widely credited with saving the famed comic book company from bankruptcy in the 1970s, has died. He was 92.
