Bill Wymans' death won't affect the band if he dies before any of them, but I'm sure they will take the day off to go to his funeral, if they have a concert scheduled.

So my relationship with my best friend is firmly over. He turned up to my flat yesterday at 11am so drunk he could barely stand. He then drunk half a bottle of red wine from my kitchen, threw up over my carpet, claimed that he loved me but that as an alcoholic he demanded that I go out with him and sort him out.

 

Correctly I blasted him out for being a complete cockwomble. But he’s on a destructive path and I won’t stand for it. I deserve better than that.

 

Today? I feel like shit. It feels like a relationship break up. But I’ve made my mind up. Guess I’m here to rant rather than social media

And guess what. I’m now the arsehole of the century with Best friend saying across the pubs/clubs/social media I’m the biggest wanker that ever walked. All done with a litre of gin in him probably. Close friends ringing me making certain I’m OK (Dur yes, watching a Dan Jones History box set and cooking a roast!) 

 

I however am staying silent on the whole mess and why we fell out. Learned that lesson when my civil partnership collapsed. Silence speaks louder.

Ach, a number of years ago I lost a good friend too. We'd meet up every Wednesday when he'd come into town for his shopping for a catch up. Soon I noticed his shopping was mainly vodka and his chat was always about the same thing and he slowly got pissed in the pub. After about a year or two of this (I'm a patient guy) he started hanging around with some obnoxious drunks who he insisted I be friends with.

 

I told him it couldn't go on like this, he needed help and I was just tacitly consenting to his ways and therefore I was stepping out the way to let him re-adjust.

 

Haven't heard from him since, I assume he's dead.

Tbh I can see it heading the same way. Whilst i have my depression under control 90% of the time, my last major breakdown last Summer taught me that my health is far more important than anyone’s- bar my parents of course. 

 

This is destructive behaviour no more no less. Anyone on 2l of gin a day isn’t a binge drinker. That’s full alcoholic. And I won’t got down with him on that ship.
