Apparantly there is two competing biopics being made. Was on the local news a few days ago. One stars Liam Neeson apparantly.

So it's serious, then. Was this a covert side deal linked to the peace agreement? I mean, if they're honest biopics they'll have to confront stuff he downplays, like just what that 'Dr' title is really worth. He's still robust enough to sue and block anything he doesn't like. Be well interested in seeing this stuff when it comes. Ironic mind, the guy who played Michael Collins and is preparing to play Abraham Lincoln, also plays Ian Paisley!!

I don't think he will as he had a bit of a row with "DR NO" a few years ago.

On the other hand, that row would be all the more reason to do it once the great man was dead! Doubtless Paisley is the kind of complex figure who'd make a great movie once he was out of the way. Bit like Idi Amin did.

I agree, once he was gone there would be a better chance of a" warts n all" movie rather than a rose/ orange lilly tinted version!

Watch this space, I heard a rumour from somebody (I know, I know - NOT a reliable source) that Paisley hasn't been too well recently. He was one of the two sitting MPs not present today at the Speaker's election and Williams McCrea has to represent him instead as DUP group leader. He could be on his way out soon....

Only 600 sitting MPs voted in the speaker's election. So about 46 didn't bother showing up, including my own beloved MP...

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Not true. All but the 5 Sinn Fein MPs and two others (including Paisley) turned up. However out of those who turned up, not all voted.

Oh right.

Anyway. He may contend his Westminster seat next year. Hardly the actions of a dying man.

Denial?

Anyways if I was to draw up a list of people who have died from natural causes whilst holding office I'd be here all day...

He may well die whilst in office, but if he was indeed ill, it is unlikely that he would contend his seat.

Believe me Windsor, there has been many a patently unwell MP still fighting their seat before croaking it. It happens time and time again. There must be soome remunerative reason for this...

Dissolution honours list gives our man a life peerage.

Helen Newlove?

Perhaps we ought to give a peerage to every victim of crime...

Paisley is visiting Scotland tomorrow...to protest against the wrongs of the Catholic Church.

Edit: Actually, he may be coming on Thursday when the Pope shows up.

He did the same when JP2 visited. From what I can remember, his face was a picture when the pope blessed him.

Gave his last sermon yesterday, so he can spend more time writing his autobiography. I know what I don't want next Christmas!!

You know the way some people wonder what Rebecca Adlington sees when she looks in the back of a spoon....well, I wonder how far Ian Paisley's eyes bulge out when he has a massive heart attack. Must've been something new, even for intensive care specialists in Northern Ireland!
