Toast 16,137 Posted July 2, 2014 Bloody hell, 1998? You're just a pup! My memory of World Cups go back to 1982 and this tourney is right up there among the best World Cups (not as good as Euro 2000 though). The Germany v Algeria match was great too. Shades of 82/86 in the quarters with France v Germany & Argentina v Belgium... I suddenly feel old. My memories go back to Mexico 1970. If it's any consolation, mine ought to, but I don't actually remember anything about it. Except - was that the one with the "Back Home" song? What? Not even the ESSO England squad "coin" tokens? No, I'm a girl.
Galento 24 Posted July 3, 2014 All of a sudden, I feel old as I well remember the events of 1966...Charlton hitting shots from everywhere, Stiles putting the fear of God into anyone foreign and Squeaky Alan Ball just running and running, Bless his little heart! This was the final where the ball never crossed the line, but the goal was given and the Germans never forgave us for it. Can anyone tell me the members of the 1966 World Cup squad now playing upstairs. i can think of Moore, Ball, Connelly, but then I'm struggling.

Galento 24 Posted July 3, 2014 On another Scots theme, and bearing in mind the current climate about sex abuse, who did Andy mean when he asked "Donald, where's yer troosers?" Was this file ever passed on to Leon Brittain

United will make about £7.5 million with all the add ons. Debt free thank you very much (as in paying off the guys who took Uniteds debt off the bank). Very good piece of business for us. And still more young talent we can sell if need be. What a club

Banshees Scream 110 Posted July 8, 2014 I watched Germany defeat France last week in overtime. Any frivolous gamblers on here? How about through blood, sweat and tears Netherlands might take the cup.
the_engineer 1,415 Posted July 9, 2014 I watched Germany defeat France last week in overtime. Any frivolous gamblers on here? How about through blood, sweat and tears Netherlands might take the cup. Gotta get past messi first but i think overall Argentina rely too much on messi and that will be their downfall. Life is like that though , the germans losing a boring 1 - 0 against the dutch in the final. Or we could have a 5 - 4 classic since the dutch battered spain and Germany battered Brazil . Galento 24 Posted July 9, 2014 I had this one today about the World Cup. After Nigeria were eliminated, the Nigerian Captain personally offered to refund the expenses of those fans who travelled to Brazil. He just needs the bank details and pin numbers to proceed with this .
Bibliogryphon 9,573 Posted July 15, 2014 According to the media the German football team was on a 'sex ban' with no wives or girlfriends accompanying them in Brazil. This means any sex they were going to have was with each other. So does this a) foster a team spirit or make them run faster?
