He should have just done the sensible thing like Jolie did, and get the vulnerable organ removed.

Bit late, it was last Wednesday, but Justin Miller died at only 35. Obits everywhere. He was responsible for the implementation of the Miller rule, named after him, which told pitchers were mandated to wear long sleeves. He was heavily tattooed and batters were distracted by them.

I guess pogonophobes should give Fenway Park a wide berth this post-season. The Sox just batted around in the 4th and I think all nine had impressive facial fuzz. They should re-sign Johnny Damon.

Bit sad we don't have a beards thread, frankly.

Was a lock on mine, I felt that his role in handling the whole A-Rod scandal + the fact he was the position's incumbent giving his death a "current event" aspect meant that his demise would at least get a passing mention in a UK article.

Connie Marero, who had been the oldest living former MLB player, dead at 102. Didn't turn pro until he was 38. And to think some people say that baseball isn't a sport.

I knew a couple of woman who didn't turn pro until after 40.

That most definitely was not a sport.

Such a shame, just 2 days before his birthday.
