I met Mr. Lasorda in 1998 on a flight, when he was the interim GM of the Dodgers.  He was very nice and signed a piece of paper for me and we chatted (very briefly) about the Dodgers.  May he rest in peace.

My own Don is the worse for wear too. His pitching arm fell off in the post many years ago, while his right foot was severed at the ankle when he fell off a giant mushroom during a photoshoot. It's true, I tell you!

 

Fortunately his buddy Robin Yount is around to keep him upright.

As stated, I didn't expect the Committee to include both Aaron and Mays this year (and Pete Rose), but to sleep on both of them is negligence per se.
