There are not many films in Arabic that I've enjoyed, but this one's memorable: بطة شوربة

I watched some ninja movie with Chris Farley last night. One of those unrealistic movies, but the woman who went by the name 'Sally Jones' I would have walked a mile to meet this woman. She had legs, perfect hair, half of the Deathlist guys wish that there wives could look half as good.

Indeed, you set such a high standard Banshee.

O I didn't know she was... Sorry Mr. Jones.

Yes, excellent film, almost as good as its Japanese example 七人の侍.

Hein

An odd title, I agree, that arose because the Japanese banned it and removed most of the content. Which is why the Chinese (next on the distribution list) had to settle for Bird's Nest Soup.

Although worryingly a well groomed mare would be almost over qualified, what with the extra legs.

Went to see Casino Royale last night. Meh - better than the last ten or so, still not up to the likes of The Spy Who Loved Me. The baddy was dead and there was still like another half an hour of the film left.

At the risk of sounding like a spotty juvenile, rather than the respectable mid-thirties mother of two that I am, me and Mr Lard saw Jackass Number Two on Friday night, and laughed our tits off all the way through. Now maybe there's a contender or two for the deathlist - I'm sure drinking horse's jizz can't be good for you.

LB

I posted a link to the whole Jackass 2 movie free on t'internet elsewhere on this site. Re the death inducing possibilities of Jackass stunts; my guess is some low grade imitators will die making their movie first. However, we did debate a rumour some time ago that the monumental stunt finishing the first Jackass movie was only arrived at after their first ending was banned on the grounds of being too dangerous to insure. The story I heard was that they'd planned - with the use of some lube - for Steve O to end the movie by sticking his head up an elephant's backside! Now that would have been dangerous.

Thankyou, CR, I shan't waste my money then.

I feel that Daniel is missing the "cool factor" that all the other Bonds possessed....

"Ice Age" was much better than "Ice Age 2" methinks, and so say all the kids I know...

I don't think we've ever agreed on anything before, but thank you for being the only other person I've ever met who realizes that Jack Black sucks. To keep the post relevant, I think he ruined the new King Kong movie... or if not ruined, at least diminished its quality. He did not suit the part at all.

Absolutely!

I agree wholeheartedly!

"King Kong" was a really decent re-make, or it would have been if not for the mis-casting of JB - he looked more like a "mad professor" than a determined film-maker...

Apocalypto. It's like a kind of Mayan Deathlist with real live picks and a cameo role for the Grim Reaper. Excellent film, sort of Rambo with loin cloths, athletic hero and one terrific bad-ass baddy. If you're going to wear your spare jaw bones show 'em off I say. Go see it. You'll never eat tapirs' balls again. Makes Beatrix Potter look like kids' stuff.

The Big White - Robin Williams and Holly Hunter.

Set in Alaska. Never heard of it before and wasn't too hopeful when Mrs MPFC brought it home. A few minutes in, as Robin Williams tried to stuff a dead body he'd found in a rubbish bin into his own freezer, as part of an insurance scam hoping to claim $1 million on the life of his brother, I was hooked. If you like The Coen Brothers this one is deffo worth a punt.

It wasn't really a film, but a historical documentary of the Kennedy Assasination. I've heard much of it several times before, besides watching Lee Harvey Oswald murdered by Jack Ruby. It claimed he deeply admired Fidel Castro and wanting to be somebody, and with a brilliant shot, he took out Kennedy easily, and it is certain that the shot could have been made. The second half of the program was in Oliver Stones face, as Jim Garrison made speeches in that movie which never really happened, his views were proved false. What we don't know is if Oswald killed Kennedy before he killed Castro. I doubt this, and it is probably true that Ruby was just a man who stuck out a gun.

I was watching that last night too, in between other things, and was quite surprised how well put together it was. I'll second the recommendation, for those of you who get the History Channel.

Oh, and for the drunken college boy in you, I always recommend Snakes on a Plane.
