maryportfuncity 10,662 Posted May 7, 2014 Good spot, Brian London is still alive. Deffo UK obit and any former heavyweight aged 80ish has to be a passable bet to go soon. The likes of Max Schmelling (in their 90s) are a rarity in this crowd.
Grim Reaper 186 Posted May 7, 2014 That's all very well but surprisingly six gruelling fights (and five defeats) at the hands of Sugar Ray Robinson seems to have had the opposite effect to what you would think on Jake LaMotta. Every year, I'm in his corner insisting he stays on the list but he keeps coming out for another round. The exception that proves the rule is bullshit maybe... MightyMoose 10 Posted August 19, 2014 Glyn Leach, highly respected editor of Boxing Monthly has passed away at the age of 52. A big loss for the sport in the UK, he gave several inexperienced writers advice & opportunities and to his credit remained above the cesspool that is boxing. http://news.boxrec.com/2014/glyn-leach-obituary He did write an out of place editorial a few issues back where he mentioned the strain of running the magazine was getting to him, but 52 is way too young. RIP.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 11, 2015 Updating one of my short-listers who I shoulda held onto for 2015, looks like removing his skull so his swelling brain had room and then sending him home as a vegetable may not be enough to keep Abdulsalamov's heart beating through 2015 after all. Shoulda chose him over Bianchi or Superstar Billy Graham. Sir C http://thaboxingvoice.com/magomed-abdusalamov-recently-hospitalized/38098
