Karen Stives, US gold winner in Team Eventing and silver winner in Individual Eventing at the 1984 Olympics, 64. http://www.nj.com/horsenews/2015/08/uset_benefactor_equestrina_kar.html

WTF you search foreign language terms or something? There have to be a good dozen of us (and I am unanimous in that) that search 3-4 times a day, and we all came up empty? Are you using something besides search engines, say Lexis or something? The whole 'translate' thing is obtuse. Are you honestly searching alternative language terms for death etc? That's crazy.

This thread "being specific to OLYMPIC medallists" in only true in the same way that the death anniversary thread is for anniversaries that are multiples of 5 years.

Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

He's a dead olympian and a dead Empire Games medallist; seems to me he fits on both counts.

Even Michael 'Eddie the eagle' Edwards would qualify for a mention on this thread when he ski jumps off his mortal plain.

Ingeborg Maria Ingers (née Sjöqvist), Swedish diver who held the record of being the world's oldest Olympian for about a week after the death of Guo Jie, has died at 103. https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dn.se%2Fsport%2Fsvenskan-som-var-varldens-aldsta-olympier-dod%2F&edit-text=

She competed at the 1932 and 1936 Olympics, finishing fourth and ninth in the platform. She won silver medals at the 1931 and the 1934 European Championships.

Edit: According to Wiki, the oldest living Olympian is now Simone Schaller, US athlete who is also 103. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Canadian_Paul/Olympics

Ljubica "Gabre" Gabric (married name Calvesi), Croatian born Italian who competed at the 1936 and 1948 Olympics in the discus throw (finishing 10th and 17th respectively) has died at the age of 101. https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=it&u=http://www.fidal.it/content/Addio-a-Gabre-Gabric/63197&prev=search

Canadian Paul's list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Canadian_Paul/Olympics has her born in 1917 however Wiki and FIDAL recognise her date of birth in 1914 which would place her 5th on that list before being removed as she is no longer alive.

Da mihi virtutem Dei.

Edit: I think that's right; it's a long time since I did foreign conjugating stuff. (Of the grammatical type, not the sexual type.)
