Youth in Asia 1,086 Posted January 13, 2009 Patrick - the majority of people want you to recoverplease get well soon Not those who have him as their joker on DDP. If he dies on the 13th it will be like a triple word score including the letters Q, X and Z.

Guest Guest Posted January 15, 2009 Pancreatic cancer is the worst type. You can get better temporarily, but the writing is on the wall. I'm sure he will leave us this year.
Demented Glaswegian 1 Posted January 15, 2009 I used to work with a Welsh cook who absolutely adored Patrick Swayze. Her name was Di. (poem) Well - thats a good chunk of my life I'm never going to get back. Why are we writing poems anyway? That was McGonagellesque in its brilliance. There was an ill actor called Swayze Whose health was increasingly hazy He went into decline Said the DL, t'is a good sign Since the poetrys getting quite lazy. Nah, I'm still rubbish at poetry. So how come Vaclav Havel hasn't had any? There was a statesman called Vaclav A very good name to have First Pres of the Czechs, Was no train wrecks, Now shortly to go to the grave. Ok, I think I can see why.

BCAlum2000 42 Posted January 17, 2009 Patrick Swayze Released From Hospital Great news for Swayze! Bad news for the Death Poolers! I'm honestly really happy for Swayze. On the other hand, he is on my deathpool list so I'm also disappointed. But b/c I'm in a good mood, I would yell, "WAY TO GO, PATRICK!" But remember, I am in a good mood right now... The Miser 18 Posted January 29, 2009 The Daily Mail is gleefully reporting that Swayze has stopped all treatment and has essentially thrown in the towel. We will have to see if his people deny it but its not looking so good for ole James Dalton. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...-little-do.html

Windsor 2,233 Posted January 29, 2009 If it is true, it is likely that he will die probably within the next 6 months. So he should now be a guaranteed hit for 2009. Probably the bit one of the year.

Well at least for BC Alum it will be the big one of the year. Swayze ticking all the right boxes, American, crap B-list actor etc. I await the post in which he makes the comparison between Heath Ledger, Brad Renfro et al. and old cancer dancer himself with great anticipation. DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted January 29, 2009 Swayze says he hasn't stopped treatment LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Patrick Swayze's publicist said the Hollywood actor is still undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, contrary to reports claiming he decided to stop. The reports are not true. Patrick is continuing his treatment, his representative Annett Wolf told People.com, referring to media stories alleging Swayze opted to stop because the treatment wasn't working. The 56-year-old star of Ghost and Dirty Dancing has been battling the disease for about a year. He recently filmed his new television drama The Beast while undergoing chemotherapy. Just as the show debuted earlier this month, the actor was hospitalized for pneumonia for a week.
BCAlum2000 42 Posted January 30, 2009 Somebody called my name??? Admittedly, Swayze would be one of the big hits of the year if he does pass away. It's sad though b/c although he's not the greatest actor around, he comes across as a decent guy with a likable screen presencee. And BTW, I wasn't planning on comparing him to Heath Ledger or Brad Renfro, but I was planning on comparing him to the likes of Robert Urich, John Ritter, Michael Landon, Christopher Reeve, and other major 1980s stars who passed away too soon. I was planning on commenting on how sad this is b/c it reminds me that I'm getting old, especially when I hear stories of leading stars from the 1980s and even the 1990s now pass away (not just fade away). Honestly, I'd much rather see Fidel Castro or Kim Jong-il die. Those two are my real big hits of 2009. If it is true, it is likely that he will die probably within the next 6 months. So he should now be a guaranteed hit for 2009. Probably the bit one of the year. Well at least for BC Alum it will be the big one of the year. maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted January 31, 2009 Dr Judy Kuriansky, a leading clinical psychologist who has not treated Swayze, said: 'When you are as determined an individual as Swayze, you want to have some control over how you spend your last days. I am sure he will summon every last vestige of strength to fulfill his desire.' In other words, he might push himself hard, provoke a recurrance of Pneumonia and go in a few weeks.
