many of us Yanks are calling bullshit on this one.

Let's wake up from this denial and face the facts. I would give Patrick Swayze six weeks to live. I hope he survives until New Years but I can vision his death arriving in mid December. The disease he is battling was diagnosed last January so the probability of him living much longer is is highly unlikely. It's almost unrealistic.

And Steve Jobs had a very unusual procedure done which ultimately saved his life. Swayze isn't as fortunate. If one of the mods could attatch a "Will Patrick Swayze survive until 2009 poll) it might be interesting to see the results.

Well, he's made 2009 and clearly done the 'dirty' on a few of us but, the cancer has to do its magic soon.

Watching the tele last night in a drunken stupor , I came across "100 Greatest love scenes" (or something like that anyway....)

Number 1 was Patrick in Ghost when he fondles loads of clay....number 4 (ish) was Patrick when he teaches whatsherface to dance in Dirty Dancing .

THIS WAS ALL ONLY A FEW YEARS AGO!!!

Go Patrick.....many years left yet with your top off I reckon.....

For what it's worth, Barbara Walters is having a special on the 7th called "Patrick Swayze: The Truth." No idea when it was recorded, but my brief research indicates maybe early December.

Take it as you will. He definitely shows the mileage.

Patrick Swayze's ‘hideous’ chemotherapy hasn't worked. He is now been administered an experimental drug called Vatalanib, which is being tested on patients who have failed to respond to other treatments.

Wikipedia claims Vatalanib has some very negative side effects just as most drugs do. Swayze has kept a very optimistic mindset on his future but it will halt sooner or later. I don't think he'll see the summer of 2009.

Similar account of the same story here, framed around his estimation that he has two years left.

He's being a bit optimistic with those 2 years. very few have beaten pancreatic cancer and lasted that long

Just heard a bit of the interview with Barbara Walters. You can hear it in his voice how scared he is.

However he seems determined to carry on as much as he can

Looks like he's entering endgame now all right. You have to wonder if God will checkmate before Swayze's new show airs on the 15th.

I think he's f**ked. A swathe of Swayze points are about to be scored, I reckon.

If he could hang on until... ooh about Wednesday, or ideally, longer that would be ideal. But I must admit when I read DDT's post.. "He's doomed." :ph34r:

I think Wednesday might be more realistic but I would bid on a few months. Then again, Death doesn't make reservations - it just arrives. I feel as if Patrick Swayze should earn more time to borrow but his chances are looking slim.

Maybe someday they'll find Pancreatic Cancer's worst nightmare.

Hello, my friend; You’re on my mind,

Because you're somehow ailing,

But your response to any challenge

Has always been unfailing.

So I’m confident you’ll win again;

Hang in there, and you’ll see;

You’ll be back on top in no time,

Tackling life courageously.

There's every chance you'll be a Ghost.

Despite the fact that his films are sh*t

I think he will be DLs first hit

Patrick Swayze continues to defy the odds.

This dude has pancreatic cancer, damaged lungs, and pnuemonia.

But he is still fighting.

He might just survive this -- might to the chagrin and disappointment of us deathpoolers (yes, me included).

Yet at the same time ... I can't help but smile at Patrick Swayze. Smile b/c he is an amazing man. He's not the greatest actor in the world and he's made a lot of crappy movies, but I have to smile b/c he is a true fighter. I smile b/c I admire his spirit.
