Mohammed Arif was born in Hithadhoo, Addu City and died aged 38 in Malé. He is widely regarded as one of the Maldives' greatest players, he was among the country's most successful players. It is believed he had a respiratory infection which was the cause of his death

Manuel Fernandes (73 Years) was born in Sarilhos Pequenos and died in Lisbon, he was one of the most prolific goalscorers in the country. His playing career was mainly associated with Sporting CP, which he later also coached. With 386 goals in all official competitions, he is the second highest goalscorer in the club's history. He also played and coached in Vitória de Setúbal POR, Fernandes won 31 caps for Portugal, scoring seven goals.
