Useless fact: in the 1960s my aunt had a siamese cat named after him. It's dead.

I'm guessing it lived to about the same age as most cats?

Would be very appropriate to have a teenage pussy named after the King of Thailand.

The king leaves the hospital for a coastal palace:

Does he want to die there??? Also, his daughter is coming with him. The official crown prince is really, really, REALLY unpopular (he was divorced three times, and is probably unfit to rule) In fact, there are plans to let that daughter succeed the king. I think this scenario is being prepared there. I predicted a friend of mine, who is married to a thai woman, that the king would die during their 6-week holidays at her family. They left for Thailand yesterday.

he will be dead by September 9, the day HM Queen Lizzie 2 takes over as longest reigning British monarch ever, because then she would also be the longest currently reigning monarch in the world, and I bet that will happen

For him, it's one illness after another:

Too much fluid in the brain and a chest infection.

Seriously though, if that photo in the story is really from 2-1/2 years ago, he looked damn good for 85.

I doubt he'll survive the year, in fact, I'm sure he won't survive the year.

But on the other hand... that's was somebody said about Dick van Dyke... in 2005.

on September 9 Queen Lizzie becomes the longest reigning monarch in British history. I am going to place a bet now that by that date she will also be the longest reigning monarch in the world, because the King of Thailand will be dead.

There's people a fraction of his age, hanging around shopping centres and the like, looking equally vacant.

They're just paying tribute to the big man of their favourite holiday destination.
