That is WAYYYYY outside the scope of this thread, mate.  And you know it.

I saw a lot of documentaries about The 1951 executions in Albania from where 22 innocent people were shot, among them were only two women, one was Sabiha Kasimati (Wiki)

The other one Didi Bicaku (Wiki), she escaped and entered the dungeon from where she survived the massacre, she is still living today at 98!

She is also the niece of Aqif Pasha Elbasani!

Tulsa race massacre (31 May - 1 June 1921) survivors has for a while been one of the groups of people like the Tuskegee Airmen and the Flying Tigers, every time a "last living" dies, a few more are discovered

Well, there are three according to this Yahoo article:

Viola Fletcher, 108. At some point thought to be the last survivor.

Lessie Benningfield Randle, 107.

Hughes "Uncle Red" Van Ellis, 101. Viola Fletcher's brother.

Cross posting Hughes Van Ellis' death report:

Hughes Van Ellis, younger brother of Viola Fletcher and himself a Tulsa race massacre survivor, dead at 102.

Cause of death: shock from logging into his favorite forum, DeathList.net, and seeing his sister compared to Fraudster Singh.

I wonder how many Lehi members there are left as it's mentioned she was the oldest living member at the time of her death. The group was dissolved in May 1948. There are three marked living on the Hebrew Wikipedia - Ezra Yachin (95), Yehuda Naut (98/99) and Eliezer Ben-Ami (99, most known for assembling "orange grenades" one of which was used as a suicide grenade by Meir Feinstein and Moshe Barazani in 1947) - died a few days after my post

Ezra Yachin not dead yet, but has enlisted in the IDF as an "active reservist".

Well, getting killed is a good way to avoid getting sent to a nursing home.

Edit: Might've been one of the perpetrators of the 1948 Deir Yassin massacre too...Maybe YoungWillz is right.

I’ve just read the Piers Paul Read book about the 1972 Uruguayan rugby team Andes plane crash, made into the Alive film in 1993. Fascinating story, it’s amazing what the human will to survive can accomplish.

16 of the 45 died, and a surprisingly high total of 14 are still alive, though they were all youngish of course, and are mostly in their mid 70s. I should name them for search purposes (obit chances I’m not sure) but the human will has let me down, sorry.

Anyway, that’s it. Carry on.

Jose Luis Inciarte, one of the survivors of the 1972  plane crash of the rugby team in the Andes, who turned cannibal to survive, has died aged 75. He's the second of the 16 survivors to die following Javier Methol in 2015.

We've been discussing them in the Planes, etc Thread.

There's a link here to the named survivors: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguayan_Air_Force_Flight_571

But I still think we should chat about them on the other thread.

I put a few names into the search but nothing came up. Inciarte was coincidentally one of the most endangered of the survivors, but even he had a longish life.

Seems like one anonymous comfort woman has recently died, as according to this Wikipedia page there are only 9 left in South Korea. Three of them are anonymous.

Some of the remaining survivors met last month:

L-R: Lee Yong-soo (94), Park Ok-seon - correct spelling? Korean name 박옥선 (99) and Kang Il-Chul 강일출 (94). Couldn't find if it was mentioned who the fourth person is. Lee Yong-soo seems to be doing amazing for 94.

Chinese comfort woman Li Meijin dead at 97.

Down to nine living comfort women in Mainland China.

Nena Kafka, Polish-born Finnish holocaust survivor (Bergen-Belsen) dead at 96.

There were already only three in 2005 and Mayer Franck died in 2012, I am quite sure this leaves Lilly Millner the last holocaust survivor in Finland.

Shuzo Teruka, Hiroshima survivor died some weeks ago at 99.

Make it 36 as Chen Guixiang has died at 99.
