Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted January 30, 2017 Just heard about this on the radio: Daryl Braithwaite cancels concert at the Australian Open due to "sudden, undisclosed illness". There is some info online: http://www.9news.com.au/entertainment/2017/01/17/22/20/daryl-braithwaite-rushed-to-hospital-forced-to-cancel-shows Apparently better now and resuming touring. No idea what was wrong with him.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 13, 2017 I was wondering what happened to Carol Lloyd, who had but a couple months to live at the beginning of 2016! I know she had ZERO chance to obit so I let it go. Now we wait and see if that's true. Brisbane's flame-haired powerhouse singer songwriter Carol Lloyd – the woman who gave Australia the great 1970s rock song A Matter of Time – has died in Brisbane's Wesley Hospital. Carol Lloyd with Railroad Gin and later with her own band, toured with AC/DC, Suzi Quatro, Billy Thorpe, Skyhooks, Daddy Cool, the Little River Band, Stevie Wright and Matt Taylor of Chain. The singer, former advertising executive and a long-time mentor to young singers had been in the Wesley Hospital after a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis. That's half of my Deathrace squad down then.

Aye, q/o could still be a mite tricky, mind. I had high hopes that somewhere in the movie's progress (like the DVD release later this year) at least one British paper would report her dead in the context of discussing the movie. She seemed a reasonable DDP banker but I was surprised I snagged her as a unique pick there. (Almost respectable points if she goes and gets written up, then)

maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted February 15, 2017 In the lead up to the movie's release Anne Hamilton-Byrne continues to get massive coverage. If nowt else this proves there are loads of good archive photos (playing the harp in this article) and plenty vivid tales. I just need her to peg out now she's well into palliative care so's the publicity continues and the q/o is seamless. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4221982/The-Family-Inside-cult-led-Anne-Hamilton-Byrne.html
Dr_T 254 Posted February 16, 2017 Thought Grant Hackett was getting close yesterday after going missing following something of a psychotic episode. He might be a watch this space. Admittedly one of the more obscure death reports, but Greg Doolan has died. He was the lead singer of an Australian showband called Wickety Wak. This means something to the 40+ who grew up in Qld, the rest of you can go about your business. http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/entertainment/entertainment-community-in-mourning-following-the-death-of-wickety-wak-frontman-greg-doolan/news-story/2589fc2baa773da5b38afe652afd825a

Can't say I'd heard of her, and I'm usually pretty up on Aussie types, but that's a hell of a line-up she toured with.
