The Dead Of 2010

Film and Television director Roy Ward Baker has died aged 93.

Shouldn't be too much trouble getting an obit which will mean an 8th hit for I'm Ready For My Funeral Mr. DeMille!

I tell you, I'm quite shocked that I've gotten 8 hits this year, quite insane I think. And considering I had a few "misses" who knows how high I could have been. Still, I'm looking good for a top 20 finish perhaps, definitely getting my best ever finish on the DDP.

If you think you have got too many, pass some to me. Ain't got a one yet, a dismal year for Feng Shui Pig.

Can't wait, but maybe a plague in the last 3 months of 2010 might help too!

William Shakespeare is dead!

What a tragedy!

Wonder if Gary Glitter will be reading the lesson? As long as it's not Leviticus 18:22.

Sam Lesser International Brigade veteran. Down to a handful now, and worth noting that today's Guardian listed ALL survivors in a short piece about Lesser's death.

So they'll probably count them down from here on, in a dead pool friendly way!

Former Hollywood screenwriter William W. 'Bill' Norton, writer of several Burt Reynolds films including Sam Whiskey and Gator, died aged 85 on October 2.

He retired from screenwriting to run guns for the IRA, for which he received a 4 year prison sentence.

Paul Hutchinson, all-round scumbag and DDP pick for TWAT has killed himself, aged around 52. I'm sure there will be more obits other than this local one soon

Yup...

15 points heading TWAT's way by my reckoning...

Good to find at least one twat that's happy.

Better known as a Man City manager perhaps, but I'll always remember him for bringing soft-porn star Fiona Richmond into the Crystal Palace team bath ...

I doubt if the WAGs were impressed, but it beat a bottle of Matey.

D'ya think the folks in the funeral home will appreciate the irony when they SET his features?

Benoit Mandelbrot, the "father of fractals", dead at 85. One for the nerd contingent there.

I guess I'm part of that.

I met professor Mandelbrot some eight years ago at a conference in Amsterdam, where he gave a presentation of fractal modelling of economic processes. Afterwards, over a beer or two, we had a chat mostly about computing, mathematics and beer. His knowledge of beer was remarkable.

I mourn one of the worlds most interesting scientist and a very nice man.

regards,

Hein
