This guy has been around for a looooooooong time. I mean he was old when he was in Casino, and that was like 15 years ago! He's awesome but his time has to be coming up!

There is a perfectly serviceable thread for Voice Actors. Can't this go there?

I thought he was more well known as being a stand-up comedian.

Yeah he is way more known for hi stand up than his voice acting. Funny guy. One of last non PC comics still going.I think he has trouble walking but apart from that he is doing pretty well for 89.

This day and age animated feature films don't get people who are only noteworthy as voice actors for the major roles but instead people who are already major celebrities with wider name recognition for a bigger draw in advertising. Dunno how famous he is outside the USA though so Mr. Potato Head could very well be his biggest claim to fame over in the UK.

I've never heard of him, or that other dude, the Mr Ed one.

I just can't see the point in creating separate threads for people who are of very limited interest. As opposed to people who have lots going on, are regularly in the news, have well-documented health issues or reckless lifestyles etc etc. Even then, some of them can share a thread, as with the scatty bimbo thread.

Watched Don Rickles in "the man with X Ray Eyes" only the other week. Meaty role as Crane, the odd side show stall holder. Amazing to think that this film was shot 52 years ago. He just turned 89 and there are only a handful of older actors left working now. (really think Kirk Douglas won't do anything again, Kirk last worked in 2010). Going down the list of really old living persons who are featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame it seems 80% are female. Somewhat shocking that Rickles is not featured there yet.

Appropriate that the oldest living actor is now Mary Carlisle (born 1914) in that her last role was back in 1943 in a film called Dead Men Walk.

I was a bit surprised he was still alive when I went through my "SAD LAST DAYS" search. And to be honest, I only remember him from either The Daily Show or the Colbert Report when either Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert ironically yelled at a picture of Rickles for winning the Emmy that year in the category they were both nominated in.

Doing a web search... found the video: http://videosift.com/video/The-Colbert-Report-923-Stephen-Loses-to-Don-Rickles

Oh wow, it was in 2008 already...

I am unaware of his comedy only really know him from voice work.

He provided the voice for a two headed dragon (with Eric Idle) in the film The Magic Sword which also featured Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes, Pierce Brosnan & John Gielgud.

Worth checking out the song "If I didn't have you" songs by Carole Bayer Sager.

My daughter went through a phase of binge watching it.

LupitaTovar who turns 105 on Monday is the oldest living actress.

Sorry should have said, of those who have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Mary Carlisle is the oldest.
