Couldn't sleep, so thought I'd do a list again.

With the loss of both Gary Owens and Judy Carne this year from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, I thought I'd conjure up a list of those survivors who appeared in the show as credited regular or guest performers who appeared as such in more than one episode. It does not include people who appeared as characters they created elsewhere, and it does not include people who appeared as themselves.

The list has been taken from IMDB in order of most appearances to least, with a little help from Wiki and Google, so the usual disclaimers apply and as always, any constructive comment to flesh out the list is appreciated. Here are your surviving stars:

Patti Deutsch (b. 1943)

Another voice artist bites the dust.

Kathy Griffin shaves her head in support of sister battling throat cancer.

Her brother also passed away from the same form of cancer.

If two of her siblings have had it, Kathy could very well have it, we might need to keep an eye out on her.

Recent evidence suggests she has stage 4 brain cancer.

Been reading a lot about Gregory recently, fascinating guy, arguably no single other entertainer did more for civil rights than him.

Material doesn't hold up though.

Interesting stuff. "La Cosa Nostra" is the Mafia? Hoover was asking the Mafia to kill Gregory, officially because he made jokes about them?

He's been on a couple teams in the DP I run.  But yes it is somewhat of a stunner.

Dick Gregory, african-american comedian/activist, hospitalized with "serious" medical condition. They say at his age (84) everything is serious, so I suspect it's pneunomia:

Dead aged 84.

Blimey - with Forsyth and Meads, that's some hat trick of deaths in 2 days, all huge legends in their own sphere.

I had a feeling there'd be several massive deaths this weekend - simply because the last week was bereft of any B- or even C-list names.

Well, if this has to show anything, that's a pretty spot on prediction from gcreptile. And the thing is, there could be more deaths tomorrow...

One of my favorite Dick Gregory quotes:

"Last time I was down South I walked into this restaurant, and this white waitress came up to me and said: 'We don't serve colored people here.' I said: 'that's all right, I don't eat colored people. Bring me a whole fried chicken.' About that time, these three cousins came in. You know the ones I mean, Ku, Klux, and Klan. They said "Boy, we're givin' you fair warnin. Anything you do to that chicken, we're gonna do to you." So I put down my knife and fork, picked up my chicken, and kissed it."

RIP to a great man.

Imagine how good that would have been if I had written that down before Forsyth's death. I wanted to, but I had an immediate after-work appointment, so I didn't get around to.

Pretty much the tagline for life, the universe and this forum itself there!

There was a recent episode of Gilbert Gottfriend's podcast where they were pressing the guest (I think Ronnie Schell?) for details of why they had beef with Shelley Berman, but the guest demured and said "he's not doing very well at the moment"....

Goes to show you dead pool research is a game that never stops.
