Looking at some of the footage of the suspected area on Sky. Very dense fog so looks like a genuine accident rather than anything else

More than two hours after the initial reports. Daylight is sharp disappearing and state related telegram channels are adding black flags to their feeds.

Israel’s assessment here. Iranian state media starting to lay the groundwork for an announcement.

He only survived this because it happened in 2024. The year where everyone lives. Next up, we'll have a world leader survive being repeatedly run over by a truck.

If this is it for him things won't change much in Iran in the short term, as the Ayatollah still holds most power. However given the latter is very old (to the point of appearing on multiple DL's) and the President has been seen as a successor, long term this could have notable impacts on Iranian society, especially given tensions exist under the surface.

The main lesson for world leaders to take from 2024 is to never get on a Helicopter ever again.

Think I've read that helicopters are one of the most dangerous forms of travel in terms of death ratio.

Still remember when Leicester City owner with a crazy name was killed om an accident after a PL match.
