Judging by the way he was moving when he left hospital, I suspect he's not "bedridden" in the sense of being incapable.  He's probably been told to take plenty of bed rest.

Yeah if he was  truly bedridden he would have had to be wheeled into a car or ambulance.

 

My Nan was Bedridden for a couple of years so not sure he is top choice for the first hit of 2020 - he is well enough to be told about Harry and Meghan.

I'm reasonably confident the papers were alarmist and confusing "bedridden" for "bed rest". Bed ridden is approaching the end, bed rest is common sense after a serious period of ill health.
