Had a chance to read the Gurnard  this weekend on Saturday, and the print edition has a QO for Ann Davies written by none other than Toby Hadoke.  However, it also appeared online on 10 May.  Worth the read, even if old news.

Frank Williams has died only 6 days before his 91st birthday. Only Ian Lavender (76) of the regular cast of Dad's Army alive now although Frank Williams did not appear in Dad's Army until series 3. He has outlived the Verger (Edward Sinclair) by 45 years! Originally when dad's Army ended, they were going to appear in pantomome as the Ugly Sisters but Sinclair had to be replaced. When Gladys was married in the last episode of Hi-di-Hi, she was 'married' by Williams & the Verger had to be played by Colin Bean who was Private Sponge in Dad's Army. A sad week for Dad's Army fans as Gordon Peters (95) who died a week ago appeared in 4 episodes of the series and once had his own sitcom which was named after him.

Indeed, look at Gene Hackman. Although there was some muttering from Russell T Davies about Warner's health about a decade ago, nothing concrete, just "not a well man".

Anyhow, I like David Warner so hopefully he's just putting his feet up somewhere and wont trouble the DDP for several years yet.

Well, shame that given David Warner's death: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-62219839

Seemingly always around, obviously from The Omen to Doctor Who, but because he was so wonderful, never out of work. Deservedly worth a mention here.

Was thinking about him just the other day. Creepy how this happens, but then again, with so many people on this earth, it is unlikely that it shall not. Rest in Peace.

Now that is sad news. What a wonderful actor. He could do Shakespeare, Amicus horror and Holocaust docudrama with equal skill. He kept so busy in fact, Willz, that he often took roles with one day before filming started at short notice when an emergency vacancy appeared, yet you'd never know he had hours to prepare for the role. So often a bad guy (though not in The Omen where I was first introduced to him) but by all accounts, a lovely man off screen, to colleagues, staff and fans. It was lovely to see him show up in Dr Who and Inside no 9 in the last few years.

I know him best for his role as Chancellor Gorkon in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. One of the finest Trek films, Warner and Plummer both did a great job in that one. We'll not mention his small role in Star Trek V.

John Steiner, British actor who retired in the 90s, has been killed in a car accident in La Quinta CA. He was 81.

He appeared in the original (Peter Cook & Dudley Moore) Bedazzled, and in the pseudo-porn film Caligula (with Helen Mirren & Malcolm McDowell) and was popular in Italy, relocating there. When the Italian film industry dwindled, he retired and moved to California, where he became a real estate salesman.

Reunited at last. Enjoying their yeast extract stock cubes in b-lister heaven (or z-lister hell, depending on whether their maker was a fan of Oxo + wholesome family orientated advertising or not).

Bruce Montague (IMDb), British actor of stage and screen, reportedly dead aged 83. Appeared in Butterflies, New TricksHollyoaks and performed in Oliver!, Phantom of the Opera and 42nd Street on the West End to name just a few.

I saw that production of 42nd street. I’m not sure if he performed the performance I went to.

He was also in Funny Girl in 2016 with Darius Campbell who died yesterday.

Another British actress, may be dead out off radar according to this  - Pauline Stroud (Wiki born  March 21, 1930) - Still alive at 91, her last credit was in 70s. So sad if it true, she was known for performance on Lady Godiva Rides Again (1951)

Worth noting that the death of Pauline Stroud means that the only credited cast member of Lady Godiva Rides Again (1951) is now Anne Heywood (b. 1931).

Joans Collins (b. 1933) and Jean Marsh (b. 1934) were uncredited cast members.

Some little indication on Twitter that long term DDP pick Harry Landis has died aged 90.

Anything else elsewhere?
