It mentions his previous hospitalization with a viral lung and bladder infection and also alludes to 'persistent health battles' since. Not too mention all those years of alcohol abuse. There is no suggestion of diva antics nor an explicit mention of ill health, but one wonders if he were not ill what other reason for not attending would be.
