Is that a euphemism for "drank 'isself to death"?

Former guitarist for The Del Fuegos, Adam Roth, diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer, now going for alternative medicine because traditional medicine offers no help anymore:

http://www.bostonmagazine.com/arts-entertainment/blog/2015/11/03/adam-roth-cancer-fundraiser/

In spite of his solo and TV work, probably not obitable for the DDP, I'd say, but for other competitions...

Reportedly he has died according to this: https://twitter.com/David_Pederson/status/677277883249860608

I would suggest adding Linda Ronstadt to the 1946 list.

Very good list! I only have minor contributions. Lindsey Buckingham for 1949, just to complete "classic" Fleetwood Mac.

Possibly the two main guys from Kraftwerk? They would obit, but then there is no real name recognition with the individual members of the band. They are, Florian Schneider-Esleben (born 1947) and Ralf Hütter (born 1946) (hence, the album Ralf & Florian).

Ah, maybe Damo Suzuki (born 1950, with a few rumours of bad health), frontman of the most popular line-up of Can. After all, the Anglo-american press loves Krautrock, even more than the general german public itself.

Well done. Combined with my post as per gcreptile's comment, that batch of names 1941-48 we are going to hear from 3-4 more unexpectedly this year. I would definitely call those prior to 1938 or so 'outliers' as most musicians don't see 76 years old.

So that begs the question: which 3-4 names from those born 1941-48 are next up?

Peter Sarstedt, David Crosby, Henry McCullough, Meatloaf, John McVie are all probably on DDP teams already! Sarstedt is on mine, McCullough on my Shadow list.

I was at Wembley on Saturday for the latest NFL game and Def Leppard were doing the pre-game show. I noticed that Vivian Campbell wasn't performing with the band - apparently his lymphoma, which was initially in remission last year, came back earlier this year and although he quickly returned to being in remission, he's now having a stem cell transplant and has taken a break from the band. One to keep an eye on

Def Lepperd cancels the remaining 10 dates of NAmerican tour for health reasons. They are suggesting it's the singer, I call bullshit. Vivian Campbell anyone?

Rolling Stone are calling it for Joe Elliott. This sounds about right, especially if his voice was a bit buggered on the Cruise dates. "The doctor basically said that if Joe [Elliott] continues to sing without resting his throat for a month he might do permanent damage," drummer Rick Allen tells fans".

A singer with no voice? No change there, then.

John Schroeder, the singer of legendary Washington D.C. hardcore band Government Issue better known as John Stabb, has been diagnosed with malignant stomach cancer after a series of hospital visits over the past month. Now, Schroeder will undergo cancer treatment, although it is unclear what stage the cancer was in when doctors discovered it.

Yeah, but the inability to sing and play at the same time hasn't hampered Bernie Sumner of New Order or BB King.
