Yeah, they had a huge top 5 hit in the US in 1989 with a cover of Ian Hunter’s “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”, but unfortunately that incident is what they’re mostly going to be remembered for.

Member of The Turtles and Flo & Eddie Mark Volman has Lewy Body Dementia. Diagnosed in 2020 and still planning to go on tour.

I saw Volman for the Turtles's Happy Together Tour a few nights ago, which they've done for close to 15 years now, along with the Cowsills, Joey Molland, (the last surviving member of Badfinger), the Vogues, the Association, Jay and the Americans, and Volman and Ron Dante of the Archies. He looks slightly aged from the last time I saw him in 2016, but still had the same sense of humor, by singing a portion of "It Ain't Me Babe", while doing a Bob Dylan impression. He was pretty upbeat the whole show. Lewy Body Dementia is a terrible disease with so much uncertainty but he's trying very hard to defeat the odds and live a full life. God bless him.

Doug Aldrich — former guitarist for Whitesnake and Dio, and current member of The Dead Daisies — has been diagnosed with throat cancer. The silver lining is that the cancer is treatable, but he’ll have to miss the Dead Daisies’ upcoming tour dates.

Ozzy will be happy to hear he's going to be OK. Don't think he could handle losing another bandmate.

What are you talking about?

The core members of both Black Sabbath and Ozzy's backing band are still alive. The only death that would have hit him hard was that of Randy Rhoads, his guitarist, who died in a plane crash, but that was over 40 years ago, and he had only been playing with Ozzy for a couple of years at that point. Just about every one else is still alive.

He's been particularly impacted by Randy's death though. Ozzy and Jack had a series on History in the US a few years ago, and Ozzy consistently brought up Randy and how much he was impacted by his death. So I drew a reasonable conclusion that the death of another bandmate wouldn't be good for Ozzy given his... condition? I'm not sure how you could describe whatever Ozzy's health is at the moment.

Ooohhh, I've got a mate who's always banging on about seeing them so early Di'Anno was the singer, doubtless that'll be the first thing he mentions when we do a pint this Friday

Shocking miss on my behalf, simply because I stupidly did not know/bother to find out his real name.

My parents saw him at the Stonedead Festival in August. He came on in a wheelchair and mentioned how he didn't know how long he could keep performing because of his ill health. He never seemed to reveal what his ill health was down to though.

To be fair, I had no idea he'd go downhill THIS fast. I just thought about it again today.
