Osvaldo Hector Cruz, who was in Argentina’s squad at the 1958 World Cup, has died aged 91

He played the first and last match of Argentina. The last match of Argentina in the tournament against Czechoslovakia was also his last cap.

He was also in Argentina’s squads which won the Copa America in 1955 and 1957. In the latter, he scored two goals, including one in the decisive match for the title against Brazil

Manfred Schaefer, who participated at the 1974 World Cup with Australia, is dead aged 80. He played Australia’s whole three matches as they were knocked out at the first round. The last match against Chile was his last cap with Australia.

If only we can find an obit saying that Nelson Lopez (Wiki) is dead, I don't know if we can trust the comment from this blog post saying he died a long time ago. I did find in his Spanish wiki that he died in 1980 in the categories. No link, explanation or even from the info box that mentions this.

It is confirmed, Sinisa Zlatkovic, player for Yugoslavia at the 1950 World Cup,  has died on 05/04/1996 at 72. His wiki has been edited a few days back with a precise death date, but without a link.

Sergio Gori who played for Italia at 1970 World Cup has died aged 77.

His only match, the quarter final against Mexico, was his first cap.

 

He notably played for Inter, Cagliari and Juventus. With Inter he won the treble Intercontinental Cup, European Cup and Serie A in 1965. With Cagliari he won the  Serie A in 1970, its only major title to date. With Juventus in 1977 he won the double Serie A and UEFA Cup, playing the latter away final

Sergio Bravo, Mexican player at the 1954 World Cup, is indeed dead in 1997 aged 70.

 

About his 1954 teammate, Cortés, I found an article about a player named Arnulfo Cortés, who (like Ranulfo Cortés) was a forward and played for CD Oro. He died in 1994. Maybe it’s the same player ?

Josep Maria Fusté who played for Spain at the 1966 World Cup has died aged 82. He played for FC Barcelona from 1958-1972, including serving as Captain. He played for the winning Spanish team at the 1964 European Championship.

Juan Carlos Sarnari, who was part of Argentina squad at the 1966 World Cup, has died aged 81. He was an unused substitute as Argentina was eliminated by England in the quarterfinals.
