Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted April 19, 2014 Did you check all those with the search function? And if you did....... fuck no, let's not. Yup - I did on this topic with the correct spelling of the names.
Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted April 19, 2014 Jimmy Hendrix is what he was born, Jimi Hendrix is what he called himself. Still one dude. Actually he was named JAMES Hendrix and in your quote you too called him Jimi and not Jimmy. If people can't be arsed to check their spelling and so bugger up the search function, go blame them and not me.
Deathray 2,940 Posted April 19, 2014 Should we try this again with a rule specifying war dead/lists of casualties from disasters don't count?

James/Jimmy/Jimi, it makes no odds. It was a duplicate and thus he has been replaced by the man who invented the reason childhood is awesome. Lets all just be happy its over. maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted April 19, 2014 Should we try this again with a rule specifying war dead/lists of casualties from disasters don't count? NO!!!!! If we do try this again I think war dead should be allowed, and no names required, like 115,000 Dresden dead. That'd keep it fast and furious.
Predictor 1,018 Posted April 19, 2014 Just imagine how terrible those celebs who didn't get mentioned in this game must feel. A million people, yet still forgotten. So my 1000 001th entry is dedicated to all of them. Ps. this is my 150th post in this forum, and it hasn't even been 2 years yet...
Paul Bearer 6,102 Posted April 19, 2014 8,700,000 + (or 25,000,000 depending on the search engine) Russian soldiers that died during WW2. That will cover the next 8 attempts to name a million (or 25m).

Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted May 30, 2014 Is this a million more dead peeps, or can you repeat? No it's about 40 more dead peeps, before they realise it can't be done, because it's an impossible battle against the forces of boredom.
Predictor 1,018 Posted May 30, 2014 Is this a million more dead peeps, or can you repeat? Well, it is more challenging to name new names. At least I think so. 999 992. Alvin York

Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted June 2, 2014 I think a much better exercise would be to have thread races. Five themed threads are created and the first to reach the target wins. There would be rules that each entry is only allowed to contain one name and no member can make subsequent posts in the same thread. If anyone is bored enough to try this I have suggested what five themes might look like 100 People who have had a UK number 1 hit single 100 Oscar winners 100 Nobel Prize Winners 100 Pre 20th Century British Writers 100 people who died before the age of 50 The same person could of course appear in more than one thread although I can't think of any Nobel prize winner who have had a No. 1 hit single.
