maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 31, 2014 Let them in. What's with the 30th Dec deadline anyway? Opinion noted, re the deadline, it's a sprint...I live in hope of copious carnage from the opening seconds of the year and thousands of points accrued within the first 24 hours, so we ain't hanging around here. I'll be ready with the masterlist sometime during the first hours of 2015 daylight.

Book 3,557 Posted December 31, 2014 *In defense of the mystery person's entry, he forgot about time zone difference and was sleeping because he has a very bad cold and is trying real hard to feel better before work tomorrow. So he didn't have the extra time to ponder over his picks. But if its a no he says thats fair... Get well soon, mystery person Ok, I will change my opinion: All in! maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 31, 2014 4-2 in favour, so Estuarian Float is duly allowed in despite the late entry. Incidentally, Float's team is lacking a joker so I've given that honour to the #1 pick in the line up. Masterlist now complete with 23 teams. It's a veritable bestiary of bravado and bad taste, crawling with local heroes and marginal low hangers from all corners of the globe and all walks of life, so may well be a very different competition to the past and to owt else around in 2015. Since the masterlist is done and dusted, does anyone have a major moan if it goes live today? (late afternoonish). Should anyone on the list die today and be on a jokerless team I'll allow a day or two for the captain to roll out a suitable sub.
DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted December 31, 2014 Since the masterlist is done and dusted, does anyone have a major moan if it goes live today? (late afternoonish). Yes! Sorry to be difficult, but (if I understand you correctly) I don't want my potential DDP unique picks compromised before midnight. That's why I think having the deadline on 30th causes problems. I think I'd prefer to withdraw my entry if you want to go ahead with this. Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick.

Not at all, the reason I was checking in is to see if anyone is sensitive about DDP picks being "stolen." No worries, the masterlist will go live on 1 Jan, your secrets remaining safe until then. Yes, whilst my teams a joke team and it doesn't really affect me the people who've PMed you have likely done it to avoid giving away obscure picks for other deadpools with the Derby Dead Pool, Hartlepool Dead Pool and Hares Death Pool all still accepting entries it seems only fair to keep them concealed until midnight. Indeed, got carried away with my efficiency and the burning desire to share a fairly tasty masterlist, lots of inspired picking - IMHO - and a late run on a totterer being discussed elsewhere on the DL. the_engineer 1,415 Posted January 1, 2015 I knew I forgot someone . Benton is a dead cert Like sam Simon I can't see him making 2016 , but still a gamble as will he get a UK obit ? I know the deathrace is a bit more relaxed with the obit rules so more of a gamble for my main DDP team .

Given the tonnage of local heroes and the like, doubtless the thread will be busier than other years with teams claiming points with links to local papers or other qualifying sources that will make the likes of Dave Benton safe picks in this dead pool.
