Alcohol is available in any supermarket, corner shop, and I seem to remember they allowed off-licences to stay open last time. I am fucking sick of watching the covid news every day which seems to be split into about 4 segments. 1) Somebody explaining how bad it is and how many people will die unless we lockdown and somebody else saying the government should have locked down sooner. 2) Some vox pop piece with various business owners bleating on about how terrible it is that their businesses are being closed down and how can they survive. 3) Somebody bleating on about how much money the government are spending and how will we ever be able to afford it. 4) Somebody talking about how they can't afford to live and the government need to support their industry better. They are also running segments 5 and 6 now being 5) Schools and colleges should be shut because they are spreading the disease followed of course by 6) Some educational specialist explaining that children's lives and mental health would be ruined if schools close again. Will anyone in the media ever accept that giving the two polar opposite views does not necessarily amount to balance? The government and the agencies in this country have been faced with an extremely difficult and challenging set of events and in the main have made a complete fuck up of dealing with them efficiently and effectively however if the media continue to present the current situation about major events (whatever it may be and whichever party is in power) in the current negative polarising style then no political party or ruling power will be able to gain the support of the country for any of their actions ever which is a bit tiresome. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
