Sheila Smith, one of the few remaining cast members of the original Broadway production of Mame, has died aged 90. She was understudy to both Bea Arthur and Angela Lansbury (and deputised for both at various points).

American theatre producer Gordon Rogoff (wiki) reportedly dead at 92 (though tweet rounds his age up to 93).

Chita Rivera, American stage actress and dancer, has died aged 91. Ten time Tony Award Nominee, three time Tony Award Recipient (including a lifetime achievement award), she originated roles in broadway musicals such as West Side StoryChicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

No idea he was ill, but his death will surely get overshadowed by Chita's.... Was pretty good in Miss Saigon.

Rivera's death means that Carol Lawrence (wiki) is the only main cast member from the original Broadway production of West End Story still living. 92 in September. Looks very good, could be around for 5+ years yet.

Saw here name and I as well thought she might have died at first.  She is on my short list as a possibility for some pools in the future and I thought she was a missed opportunity for me.

Lynda Gravatt, who stood by for Phylicia Rashad in a 2008 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' revival and for Leslie Uggams in the original 2001 production of 'King Hedley II' but who was a prolific off-Broadway actress with extensive credits, has died. She was 77.
