Death Impends 7,979 Posted June 4, 2014 Susan Spencer-Wendel: bucket list best-seller, apparently fixing to check-out soon. http://www.guardian....e-goodbye-dying Tbh, I was surprised The Guardian gave this so much prominence. By the sounds of things I've posted it correctly here, 2014 possibliities might have been a bit ambitious. Says goodbye. Got a Daily Mail AP feed obit as well. He was a fine writer, I own several of his books, including his 1974 The Weather Machine, in which he predicted the coming of a new ice age. regards, Hein
Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted June 30, 2014 This article is a bit of fun on the BBC website but if you read carefully it suggests Phillip Pullman is not well but does not elaborate.

Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted June 30, 2014 Josephine Pullein Thompson of pony club fame along with her 2 sisters has died at 90 http://www.telegraph..._medium=twitter She was featured on last weeks edition of R4's The Last Word and as well as the Pony books it highlighted her campaigning work for PEN which helps when writers are targetted by authoritarian regimes. The speaker gave an anecdote about attending a literary event and everyone wondering why Salman Rushdie was talking to 'that old lady'.

Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted July 21, 2014 Val Biro sadly died on 04th July 2014 However apart from Wikipedia and an entry on his website an obit does not seem to be forthcoming. I did love Gumdrop as a child and Drango Dragon was one of my daughter's favorites. If I do get the Obit he will be my fifth hit on my theme team and a unique one. Surely someone must have noticed.
