Deathray 2,942 Posted November 9, 2015 who do people think will make number 1? Jimmy carter? maybe Zsa Zsa? Zsa Zsa should really be 50 rather than 1. Carter bumped to 1.

gcreptile 11,055 Posted November 10, 2015 If the Death List wants to replace Helmut Schmidt with a similar character (if he dies...) they could go for other "forefathers of the Euro". I'm thinking of Valerie Giscard D'Estaing or Jacques Delors. In the latter case, it's also completely obvious that the Death List headline would be some kind of "Up Yours, Delors" joke. And they would both cover the "token french" slot, which was unoccupied this year. Both of them still seem semi-active though, but that was true for Helmut Schmidt as well.

msc 18,534 Posted November 17, 2015 He's talking about his own deadpool rather than the Deathlist, I think.
TomTomTelekom 3,731 Posted November 17, 2015 @Sir Creep, with all due respect to your intellectual problem, but at the beginning I explicitly pointed out that I am referring primarily to my own Death List. But anyway.... there are listed sufficient potential candidates for 2016 DL. So take it or leave it! Regards Tom

maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted November 21, 2015 Soon to be 98 year old Diana Athill is fairly lucid and healthy, despite a minor heart attack recently, in a lengthy Guardian interview promoting her 8th volume of memoirs today.

Sir Creep 7,071 Posted November 22, 2015 Ayatollah Khamenei could be one to consider. Ya think? He's not on 2016 list the supposed expert 'committee' is a sham. Not to give away a DDP pick but frankly anyone not having the Ayattolah on their list needs to leave now and come back after more training. SC
Sean 6,360 Posted November 22, 2015 Soon to be 98 year old Diana Athill is fairly lucid and healthy, despite a minor heart attack recently, in a lengthy Guardian interview promoting her 8th volume of memoirs today. Definitely worth a shot.If she suffers any further heart problems she is probably going to be to old for surgery .Also she has a slow growing tumour on her kidney and likewise if that worsens treatment options would no doubt be limited. Plus she has stopped writing so may just give up now!

Plus she has stopped writing so may just give up now! Yeah, but she stopped writing after her seventh volume of autobiography; until she was persuaded to give it a go again. I reckon she'll see 2017 and may well see 100. Tough old bird.
Mercarte 151 Posted November 22, 2015 My suggestion: Carlo Azeglio Ciampi (95), former italian president. René de Obaldia (97), french playwright. Georg Ratzinger (91), german priest and brother of the former Pope. Charlotte Rae (89), american actress.
maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted November 24, 2015 Georg Ratzinger (91), german priest and brother of the former Pope Hmm, I like the cut of your jib. Traditionally obitable or not, that's a one liner in some national paper because of his brother.

Traditionally obitable or not, that's a one liner in some national paper because of his brother. That would be more of a Deathrace or chancy DDP pick than one for the main list. CaptainChorizo 1,991 Posted November 25, 2015 My suggestion: Charlotte Rae (89), american actress. She is currently promoting a book on the us talk show circuit. Seems in very good health, would be extremely shocked if she died in the next year.

Death Impends 8,043 Posted November 25, 2015 He doesn't have any real fame beyond being Celine Dion's hubby and manager, not really a recognizable personality on his own. I doubt he'd be considered DL material.
Sean 6,360 Posted November 25, 2015 Do you guys think Rene Angelil is famous enough for the Deathlist? Just about as he is a talent manager of a big star.Yes he would not be so well known if he wasn`t married to her but I think that is besides the point. Probably more famous for being expected to die, which rules him out imo.
