YoungWillz 21,035 Posted August 1, 2016 Abu Omar al-Shishani confirmed dead And indeed the US confirmed he died at the time! We all missed that one. Ok, so here it is again. The reason he is not in the round up is because the US confirmed him killed in March in Syria. They have since withdrawn that confirmation. ISIS confirmed him killed in July in Mosul in Iraq, but although the US have confirmed him targeted, they have been unable to confirm afaik that he is dead. The rules of the game as I understand is that both sides have to confirm him dead, and that they would have to agree on the date/location that he was killed. It is however TMIB's game and I'm sure he will come to an equitable decision...
themaninblack 2,112 Posted August 1, 2016 So now they're saying he isn't dead? I'll hold back on that one then...

msc 18,439 Posted August 4, 2016 Well, now I'm going to be super-curious what these changes were going to be! I don't want to say I'm usually a bit shit at this game, but Pan Breed 2016 has more hits than Pan Breed 2015 and Pan Breed 2014 did combined now.
Death Impends 7,963 Posted August 4, 2016 It is remarkable to think we now have four teams at 15+ hits. When Spade first reached that in 2013, I thought it'd have been an extremely rare fluke. Now multiple teams have been able to accomplish with 20 names what the DeathList still hasn't with 50! (I know there's a different standard of names, but still...) themaninblack 2,112 Posted August 4, 2016 I'm starting to think that 2016 maybe an outlier than indicative of what may happen in the future which is one of the reasons I'm holding off any radical points changes. TTL 2017 may well act as a guinea pig for any future changes in that regard. Still in the early stages of development though...
Deathray 2,940 Posted August 5, 2016 Still on track for a personal best. Still amazed Piet de Jong hasn't got a single UK obit.

maryportfuncity 10,645 Posted August 6, 2016 Still on track for a personal best. Still amazed Piet de Jong hasn't got a single UK obit. There may be a default obit much later in the year because the broadsheets often round up significant deaths and - last time I looked anyway - a qualifying DDP obit can be a newspaper article that mentions it. So, I guess, a name on a long list in a general article about significant political deaths might still be possible.

Death Impends 7,963 Posted August 7, 2016 Admittedly, I've been considering entering a space-related theme team for next year and the obit/orbit mixup could be useful for coming up with titles. "In Orbit-uary" or something.
