Has Cliff Richard really got a colostomy bag? Or is that just another name for Una Stubbs?

More of a colostomy tray really, Una.

The Telegraph has picked up the trend and now has a rolling "gallery of dead people of culture":

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/news/culture-stars-who-died-in-2016/

Maybe someone (cough...Spade...) could contact Martin Chilton to include Michel Delpech...

Also, I didn't realize that there are already three deaths from the orbit of Jefferson Airplane.

I was a bit sad we missed out on Spade's "fag packet aspergers" list this year, so I had a 1am look at the people chosen by last year's top ten. There hasn't, just the two (Kantner and Anderson). Dan Hicks was around San Francisco at the same time as the Airplane but other than that there's no connection.

As I look at this is bet a shilling that neither '8 Teamers' (Marks/Diski) drop dead at all.

Marks is a case of not really knowing the effects of overdosing on recreational drugs has on cancer - John Edrich managed to "cure" terminal cancer with mistletoe injections. Still think he's fecked.

Diski was given 2-3 years in 2014. Likely 2017, but would be a nuisance to miss, especially if her brain tumour developed suddenly.

Kate Granger is the highest on that list I certainly think will see 2017 - and she wound up on my list because I named her first sub instead of Monty Brinson!

Ok let's see if this qualifies.

Christy O'Donnell dies of cancer before the right to die law she championed in California takes effect.

Crossquoting this to the DDP thread because she was a unique for team Shovelful of Dirt, and to the surprise of no one the Mail delivers a QO.

I actually wonder if we make it worth it for the Daily Mail, by sharing these links and clicking on them.

The Telegraph is now also going through its backlog. Felix Pirani? David Emms?

I like how Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is still being described as a member of Al-Qaeda. I mean, that's how it all got started, when ISIS still affiliated itself with them. Now it's almost the other way round.

If the Independent does close its print operations (as rumoured) to go online-only, will it still be valid as an obit source in 2017?

Interesting point.

Anyway, here's the next update...
